While I was facing the GC first coat fiasco of sun hitting my fender coat and me having to wipe it off immediatly....Hakro got busy giving a final wet wipe to his first coat...you can see that the goth is now partly in the sun...

Having no other option, and after several harrassing shouts by my wifey for lunch...me and Hakro decided to take a quick 15 min home cooked pizza break...

at 4 pm we were down again...thank God the back lane now had shade....so the cars were then taken in the back lane again...and we got set on Alto's second coat and Goth's first coat...

hmmm...some wax left...Hakro carefully working with a wet MF to perfect his surface...

This I really don't know what hakro is doing...Hakro...why are you hitting your car with an MF??? Waisay Imran's words..."Omar bhai you are right about dust in your area...the amount of dust you are getting between coats...I get in 24 hours"....well can I add in here...C I told you so

Finally the NXT stage...sorry folks only three pics here (do I hear sighs of reliefs here )...

plus we hubbies are getting a GUILT free indulgence in a SINFUL pleasure...and wifies cannot do anything about it...they hate it...why is he so happy...when he is not doing anything wrong, anything which I can create a biggggggggg issue on..... and that is the crux of the whole problem.... in a nutshell....

Bros, I need some suggestions... As most of my bros know that I've been using low end products uptill now. But, I am done.

I plan to get myself an entry level detailing kit, inshAllah.

At first I had plans to buy meguair's or mother's but then, I thought that I would never like to miss any necessary step in detailing...

So, I need the following:
-good wax
-shampoo
-swirl remover
-interior detailer
-plastic protectant, as to use on headlights etc
-compound polish

Please add something I missed or tell me the things which I don't need from the above list.

I thought to buy the turtle Ice kit but I would always love to have xxxpert suggestions from my friends.. Thanks in advance.

Okay the way I recall...you are good with pastes...stick to pastes as your first stock up...

Wax...3M perfect it...I am not recommending GC here as GC requires surface prep and we need to get you into that first...

CLEANER Wax...you need to step up and get into the surface prep game...get yourself a Megs cleaner wax...not so heavy on the pocket either

Shampoo...get Armor All or ICE...

Swirl remover...well you dont really need it...you can get rid of light swirls with Megs cleaner wax and for the heavy ones you can use compound...and then maintain it with the cleaner wax

Detailer....you forgot this...Armor all is good and turtle platinum is good...read my post on detailers posted on 25th of this month for more info

Interior Protectant...I use Megs NXT tech interior protectant...works really fine...

Plastic cleaner for headlights...use a detailer...unless your lights are totally messed up

Compound...I guess V1 will guide as to which compound should you play around with at this point in time...

Glaze: again, you forgot this...get V1 to help you out...but for the time being cleaner wax can work as well....

There are few things more...but if you currently just stick to a cleaner wax and a good follow up coat with lets say 3M perfect it...you are good to go...control these two before you add in more stages...

Oh yes...a tyre gel....for matt finish go for Armor All tyre foam and for glossy...go for megs endurance gell....

MASHAALLAH ALLAH hamari tamaam bheteejeeoun,beteeoun,behnou ko naik banae aur naseeb achay karay !!Aameen!! daughters are really a true blessing from ALLAH (S.W.T)!!! hope will meetup soon !!! about the swirls i think u need some tuition lessons from ustaad jee or coord a date with him on ur next visit to lahore n get em sorted. glazing after applying wax cleaner masked some swirls. as ustaad jee mentioned in earlier posts,either u mask/hide em or remove em using the rotary but the latter would take off some microns of the clear coat. swirls will come back n its extremely difficult to avoid. as mistero bhai had observed that even blowing dust creates swirls. u be using swirl remover quite often as ur always removing a layer of the clear. best is to maske the existing swirls n make an effort to avoid geeting more in. even brand new cars in showrooms are full of swirls. go to suzuki gujrat someday n see for urself!!! if u have spider webbing sort of swirls than u mogt have to buff them out using a rotary and a swirl remover. never go for compounding from the ordinary painters as usually they end up putting more swirls. even my ride has minor swirls but they arent so prominent. regular waxing will definitely mask them with the passage of time provided u take care of getting more swirls into the paint!! upload a pic of the swirls so that the ustaads can guide us better!! BTW u r a dashing dude!!!!(H) loved ur pic!! the pic setting is so good that at a glance u think this pic has been taken outside Pakistan!!!

Yes no doubt at all,my son is elder than daughter,little kids draw more attention towards them over elders and overmore a baby child:*,thier mom keep them ''teer ki tarah seedha'' sara din,koi badtameezi nahi koi shararat nahi,full time decipline:( and as i enter the home they start doing ''laddian'' and ''sharartain'' with me:Pdaughter mostly does not sleep unless i put her head on my shoulder:) and her sweet demands never ends like chocolate,fried peanuts etc.One can never think of it in his life unless a father of a beloved daughter.
About ride,Previously i was thinking to polish the paint of the car once but i was, like taking too much time deciding where to get the work done, on my other beloved;),and i was about to go CAR PONT 15km multan rd lhr as they are involved in new techniques,machinery and skilled workmanship, after watching their add here at pw,before i touched this thread.And now i am having one aim to meet usman some day to show him the holograms and webbing on the paint is like:o i tried many cosmetics to hide the swirls but alas:(i will have to polish the skin to get rid of old swirls and to be ready for next care and maintenance:)

YOU CAN ONLY WORK ON THE SURFACE TO AN EXTENT, ITS ALL IN THE PREP.....the more you prep the base for waxing, the more you can attain from your wax...simple...!

hardcore believer now...believed in the theory...did it twice before but always applied a synthetic on top...so never really measured the impact...expect maybe deduce that a certain brand works with one cleaner better vs. the other...but this time since i have been working with GC for around 2 months..now I could actually tell the difference...

The behavior of the wax was totally different on the prep'd surface...it was like putting cream cheese on a hot toasted bun...and the way it came out...GOD I just wish I would have gone for a second coat of GC...instead of NXT....

Now imagine if I would have put a glaze after the cleaner wax and before GC...oooh I am getting shivers...

and am I looking forward to some claying now... serious believer of adding in steps in surface prep vs. Wax application....

guys today i did not had an internet connection because there is some painting work going in my room. but the connection with you guys and with detailing has made me to connect all the wires and check all the posts and also post pictures... MashAllah a very good connection, very different and very real... hope to see you all some day soon... not very good in expressing but my best shot

a couple of things....

1. All swirls will not go until they get compounded, which means a couple of microns removed off the paint of your car...without compound or an abrasive product...you can only mask swirls and scratches and not remove them...

2. You have lime prime...and it is for light scratches and swirls as it is sort of an AIO...and why wasn't it effective...well you answered it yourself...you didn't use a DA...so that means if you want Lime prime to remove the light scratches and swirls that it promises and you do not have a machine...then you have to work it into the paint by hand...simply spreading and coating it won't do anything...thoree mehnat karein sir...mugar itnee na kar layna kay paint rugar kay khutam kardain...

3. By your description you straight away applied White Diamond...if that is the case...then your last recorded surface prep was around 3 weeks back...a long gap my friend....you need to apply wax immediatly after surface prep...meaning...apply Lime prime and instantly follow up with a coat of DW...you have an old paint surface and you need to give it immaculate prep before you will get the results you are looking for...

4. Your application method...well I can understand a two finger application on a Granturismo which has been pampered all its life...but you have a car which was neglected for soooo many years...you need to give it a proper application...plus hand application...have you tried the basics first..like use a foam applicator...ofcourse you aren't satisfied, because you do not have an even coat applied...

5. I can actually understand why you did a two finger coat....because the DODO panel pot size is small and you can only fit in two fingers to scoop it out...you are then supposed to rub it in your hands (which are already pre-lubricated lightly to close the open pores of your skin) and then massage the car with your hands in even strokes...you I am guessing, smeared the wax on the paint as and when you took it out and then tried to spread it using the same two fingers...not a good idea...

6. Grains I am afraid you won't be able to get because your white is a non metallic color and thus does not have any grains to begin with...

Sorry for the long lecture...mugar aap us din airport ajatey...to results would have been different...we are all here bro...just ask if you are not sure...and if even if you do not ask...just go through the stuff in this thread and you'll get a treasure house of tips....

So go in this order...

1. Correct application - get control over it
2. Stop putting in new swirls and scratches...implement a damage free/minimizing regime
3. Start masking the anamolies and swirls/scratches

and then you go for eventually removing them....

Sir usman nay aik challange diya tha buhat arsay pehlay...kay he can bring in shine and reflections like synthetic from GC and he can make color darker with synthetic...I believed him and this Sunday I did it as well......

Sir the picture order is opposite to what you have first identified on the basis of product characteristics...upper picture is after NXT...and below picture is GC only...

the second time around you guessed it correctly, based on the evening light...but I assure you...the car is looking dark with NXT...and with GC, it was blinging like a patakha...with such depth that I have never seen before on Goth...

this is what ahmad bhai was explaining to me. the diff between Turtle Ice and Megs NXT n how they work differently!!. though both are synthetics but the way they respond is so brilliantly described !! see every day is a new learning n getting more technical!! it took us decades to get the diff between wax n polish n now look at the sciences discussed here!! isnt that freakingly crazy stuff !! uffff.....lolzzz ACHEE BHALLI ZINDAAGEE GUZAR RAHEE THEE lolzzzz. on a serious note ive come to a concl that this science is much more complicated than earlier visualised. its like u will detail your ride to meet a particular req. u want to store the veh, ull select diff products, u need to do the bling bling u'll do it in another way, u have time at ur end u'll do it different, u dont have time n want to preserve the looks for a longer duration, u'll have it done diff,, ur servant/service station wala wrongly wiped it down using the tye wal kapraa n u'll do it diff, its raining ,diff, its extremy hot,diff, too much sun.diff, u want a rich deep look.diff! u,too much dust in ur area u'll approach Differently!!! etc etc

yes brother very watery look n bonding power of this clear liquid wax. thanks for likng the colour.its a decent color but was sadly discont in 2008 n replaced with polished metal which has a more bluish tint whereas Granite had a dark brownish tint in it.love both the colors n a detailed polosished metal/gun metallic is a true treat to the eyes!! if u happen to come across the DIAX KING wax anywhere get one reserved for me as im after this wax since long. im desperate to try the GC n NXT combo but after jun as i might have to perm move back to the UK in the near future n using the products already in stock. if sadly i have to then cruisematec has be let gone aswell. if not then have a long new shopping list
