MashAllah! Great work Usman Bhai! It certainly brings back good old memories of the time when Mustafeez Bhai's Sunny was done! But back then, all we had was Turtle's Red Rubbing Compound, tayyab's rotary with that wool applicator, and ur trusty pressure bottle! Certainly, things have evolved to a whole new level!

We all talk about depth...but what is true depth, to what extent can depth be taken, how is it measured...well I just found a pic courtesy our very own His rotaryness aka Vague One aka Usman...a vehicle he did a lil while ago...I am posting a pic of that session...please look at the reflections very carefully and see where the hell did that 2nd arch in the reflection come from when we can only see one flat panel...and one arch in the real picture...

some of stuff i hav for my car,
not detailing stuff, but just normall things i use to clean my cars.

From left to right

Cosmic polish.
Method imported car air freshener.
Star shiner for dash and leather seats, tires etc.
Formula 1 Scratch out for the lights and minor scratches.
Formula 1 Protect ant for dash.
Skilcraft power duster to clean the small places like ashtray, coilholders etc Imported.
Skilcraft CLEAN its all purpose cleaner i use it for Engine bay Imported.
Spray nine is use to clean engine bay as well Imported.
some chinese airfreshner.
Kangroo SHAMPOO, Imported.

where do you get this polish from may be i wana try this on the ugly duckling and i will use perfume as a compound to cut the swirls bohat alaaa i likes i likess...

yes honestly those were the things used ... i got the polish from a car paint shop near Haji Mehfooz sheermal house water pump karachi ..... and the tooth brush and perfume i used to clean the logos (toyota, Vitz and the V in front)

Thats a rather amusing post ! Sir yeh kahan bitha rahay hain bhai ko ? Baki sara kuch mai kar lunga! JazakAllah for liking the work an the kind words ! Sir its all the rehmat of the Creator, banda kissi laiq nahin......oh sir, there is one job I`m hiding from the thread, an thats one job I am realllllllllllllllllly putting my time into, will InshAllah come with a bang with it! An sir, not 5, my details have a couple of times gone into 6 digits too Its always nice to be appreciated, an thing is I never work the money , only for the satisfaction! oh yaar jump up to atleast basic waxes such as Turtle wax (less than 500 for a box) and some chinese Micro Fiber cloths...

bayshuk your car is looking nice but...you will not be smiling a couple of months down the road....it is looking nice and clean because you are cutting your clear coat every time you detail....

that caltex polish is a COMPOUND...it cuts your paint...and the t-shirt and paper towel you are using is creating major major paint defection...you might not notice them because you are cutting your paint....

so please if you love your car...don't shift to high end or 4 figure stuff if you dont want to but atleast shift to a basic proper wax such as turtle wax, and a proper car shampoo...get hold of the speed wax kit...it has everything and costs less than 800 PKR...but sir...the idea of detailing is not just clean and shiney cars but the primary reason is PAINT PROTECTION....you have to add layers to it and not take off layers....

Umm, bro, you cant get grains out of normal paint, reason isnt you, its the paint itself, jab us mai grains hain hi nahin, to aap nikalog@y kahan say ?? You can take the grains out only in metallic colours...an the car looks preety decent for its age, you just need a good cut an you`ll be all set!

its okay about the grains part ... but the shine and the depth cut kidhar se karwaoun sir jee.. ap to lahore mein hain

a couple of things....

1. All swirls will not go until they get compounded, which means a couple of microns removed off the paint of your car...without compound or an abrasive product...you can only mask swirls and scratches and not remove them...

2. You have lime prime...and it is for light scratches and swirls as it is sort of an AIO...and why wasn't it effective...well you answered it yourself...you didn't use a DA...so that means if you want Lime prime to remove the light scratches and swirls that it promises and you do not have a machine...then you have to work it into the paint by hand...simply spreading and coating it won't do anything...thoree mehnat karein sir...mugar itnee na kar layna kay paint rugar kay khutam kardain...

3. By your description you straight away applied White Diamond...if that is the case...then your last recorded surface prep was around 3 weeks back...a long gap my friend....you need to apply wax immediatly after surface prep...meaning...apply Lime prime and instantly follow up with a coat of DW...you have an old paint surface and you need to give it immaculate prep before you will get the results you are looking for...

4. Your application method...well I can understand a two finger application on a Granturismo which has been pampered all its life...but you have a car which was neglected for soooo many years...you need to give it a proper application...plus hand application...have you tried the basics first..like use a foam applicator...ofcourse you aren't satisfied, because you do not have an even coat applied...

5. I can actually understand why you did a two finger coat....because the DODO panel pot size is small and you can only fit in two fingers to scoop it out...you are then supposed to rub it in your hands (which are already pre-lubricated lightly to close the open pores of your skin) and then massage the car with your hands in even strokes...you I am guessing, smeared the wax on the paint as and when you took it out and then tried to spread it using the same two fingers...not a good idea...

6. Grains I am afraid you won't be able to get because your white is a non metallic color and thus does not have any grains to begin with...

Sorry for the long lecture...mugar aap us din airport ajatey...to results would have been different...we are all here bro...just ask if you are not sure...and if even if you do not ask...just go through the stuff in this thread and you'll get a treasure house of tips....

So go in this order...

1. Correct application - get control over it
2. Stop putting in new swirls and scratches...implement a damage free/minimizing regime
3. Start masking the anamolies and swirls/scratches

and then you go for eventually removing them....

actually after these depressing results i went to the denter/painter to ask about the paint job and i was amazed to know the price he told me.. :o
he said he will not do the roof as it is okay.. and for the other panels he will charge me PKR 25,000 which was for the so called 'bhatti' procedure i can't recall what was after bhatti but for that it was 25k and for the simple procedure it was PKR 20,000 :o
after the prices i said bas bhaye bas zada baat nahi cheif saab aj k baad mulaqat nai cheif saab :D:D:D:D
and then i have started my search for a painter who is already doing a white city and i will ask him to do touch ups in the car.

i don't know what the previous people did to the car but i am sure that they have washed it with 'surf' and waqai sahi se ragra mara hai.. itni zada mari hai k i thought they have taken out the anger of their wives on the car :-#
to this i would say that why can't they not buy a car shampoo it lasts longer than 'surf' and yar ek cheez hai to wo kisi waja se haina.. otherwise it would not have been there..
and 'surf' is for clothes not for cars please spread this we need to create awareness...

the other day i went to the service station and i saw the person using 'BRITE' waqai if they use 'BRITE' on cars to such baat hai 'nahi bachay ga koi daag' poora ka poora paint bahar aa jayega..

omer bhai on the day i took the pictures i applied lime prime before and then i applied diamond white... and i used only two fingers to apply the wax lol.. what a shame... dodo juice le lia but do applicator pads what a shame.. :-#

where can i get the small round applicator pads you were using while detailing goth i would like to have them too..

also omer bhai and amir bhai i apologize for not showing up at the airport. actually the time went so fast that it has been more than a month since i came here and now its less than a month to go :s pata nahi where did time fly.. i get this time at night when i come on and read through the posts and reply to them

JazakAllah Omar bhai, your indepth research is always a pleasure to read, the things you pick up, the analysis you make, the pointers you catch, just makes me wana push you more an more to the point of awesomeness! I wonder if there is a PHD for detailing....guess you`d have thrown your grad cap up by now! Thumbs up for bein the best academic student here....practicals mai thori kaami hai, you leave things out, have a leeetal trouble keeping time oriented detailing, so work on that an maaaaybe just maaaybe I might be temepted to give you the "Royal" treatment when I come....InshAllah!
