@chaudhary9...
ok...hmmmm...I was going to give you a very extensive tutorial based write up on the remaining stages of detailing...but after having gone through your questions, i will postpone this a bit...I'll let you digest the washing bit first and let you get the stuff you need first...
Once you have the stuff, then I'll guide with their application...meanwhile let me list what you need to get and why...
Atleast 6 MFs...as I have said multiple times...the more MFs the better...always have reserve...if you think you need 4 get 6, if you need six get 10 etc...
A decent car shampoo...brand options are given in my wash post...
Foam...well ideally you should get a washing foam or mitt from a car shop (where you get the products from) but a large soft foam will also do....you can even use one of the MFs...so no issues here
2 buckets...
Okay now for the detailing products...I can list down a ton of various products for you...go into synthetics and natural carnuabas...but that would again be info overload...so let me spell it out for you very simply....you need something which gives you all the solutions, is relatively easy to handle and is ideal for BLACK...
Just get the Turtle BLACK BOX...I think it is for 2500 Pkr...
what you'll get in this...
a cleaner wax: before you actually wax your car...you need to prepare your car's surface for the wax, you need to make sure most paint anomalies are gone because a wax enhances a look which is already there...if you just starch and iron a dirty white shirt...it won't look bright white now would it...a cleaner wax...masks swirls, hides scratches and even takes out some lighter ones...(I won't get into cutting subject here as there are many more complex and advance ways to prep up your surface to make it brand new...but you have to be very very comfortable with detailing before you even think on those routes)...so getting back to topic...the cleaner wax will clean up your paint and bring the shine out... to further elaborate this...lets go back to my face example...you wash your face with soap and water...take your mum's, wife's or girl friend's facial cleanser and apply it to your face with a cotton ball...you'll be shocked at how much dirt that cleanser will pull out from your squeaky clean just washed face...well a cleaner wax works exactly like that on the surface paint...
you don't want to lock in all those impurities in your wax coat now do you...okay now this is most important...this is a very important stage...however, if you are not comfortable in the beginning...start your first detail with wax only...you can skip it in your first one two details...take it as a ladder towards improvement...improve, learn and experience with every detail.
Black Carnauba blended wax: This is a liquid wax which comes in the pack...easy to apply and remove...it will give that deep and liquidy look to your car...but remember...a wax is as good as teh surface beneath it...because a wax is a coating which goes on top like a glass...a polish on the other hand cuts a layer of your paint to reveal a new fresh layer...you need to stay away from polishes for the time being...
Black detailer: one of my most favorite products...now what is a detailer...a detailer is a highly diluted form of wax used for maintenance of the wax coat...now this is what you use when you do not wash...to renew the wax coat, add an extra shine and to clear your car of any dust...also great to attack those 911 jobs that I talked about...
Best of all...in the black box you get two bottles of the black detailer...as this is the product which you will be going through very frequently...
Okay the application...we'll get to it once you have procured it...so I can guide you on the exact application method instead of overloading you with detailing information which will be extremely difficult for you to digest all at the same time...
Meanwhile...you can do the following:
1. read the thread from the beginning...make a folder...Ahmed Yar did it this way
2. search for the terms you do not understand on google...watch tutorial videos...megs has some great videos...
3. Tie up a visit to ANZAIDI...he is coming out to be excellent with Black color and he is in Isloo too...
My last advice to you will be to get the stuff procured from Lahore...the black box is available at SACA...get their number, they even despatch the stuff to Isloo...all the stuff will cost you less from Lahore then from Isloo...get the max bang for your buck...
yes first time the cost will be a lil high...but spread this over a year...and it'll come down to a couple of hundred per month...so it is not much...and one think I assure you...once you get to look at your first desired results...you'll be on a hunt for more products that you can play with...
So till the time you get the products...
One last note of caution...don't get bogged down with all the advance concepts and enthralling results you will see in your research...your focus right now should be on learning the basics and working on your technique...detailing takes hours at an end...get into the regime...learn to move that hand...before jumping up into advance concepts...your car is not going anywhere...it has inflicted years of damage...a couple of weeks or months won't matter...as long as you are stepping into the right direction...you will be able fix it eventually...that look won't come in the first few attempts...no matter what you do...patience and a perfect technique is what will get you there...
and oh...get an armor all tyre foam can as well...or any other decent tyre dresser to begin with...ask zaidi, which one is he using and where did he get it from...
and again oh....I forgot to tell you about the drying method of the glasses...I use a water blade...and then use a glass MF to wipe off the excess water from the side...
