okay, i have been experimenting lately. i wanted to know what will happen if the car is waxed every day. since i dont have that kind of financing to wax the entire car daily i am working on one panel of a silver corolla. so far three coats of gc have been applied. and the results of waxing are better if i allow the previous layer to cure for one day rather than apply another layer straight after buffing off the previous one
observation.
the paint seems to be getting more metallic. earlier it just looked kinda greysih but now it is getting better, even when there isnt much sunlight.
depth
now this was surprising. maybe it was my mistake or the wax's. the surface was only clayed before waxing. after three coats the depth seems more or less the same. at certain angles it seems a bit less than the surrounding panels. i dont know the reason. my guess is that the yellow colour of gc is responsible.
well reflections are not really comparable with the rest of the panels as the fender i am working on has less orange peel than the rest of the car.
ill see what happens after some more super thin coats.
i want to know the reason for the depth reduction and is there anything as too many coats of wax i.e after that limit wax will not bond to the paint surface properly or give any better results.
