In areas with particularly hard water (see map above) it is preferable to use the 30 PPM model instead, in order to prolong the life of the filter. Another option is to use the 30 PPM model in tandem with a 0 PPM filter.
The life of the filter is dependent on the amount of water used and its hardness, and can thus vary considerably (see graph above). Around ten litres of purified water is usually sufficient to rinse an average-sized car.
