I need your help to take on time decision. Yesterday night i bought a car , don't want to share brand name and model. Our past experience for keeping used car is that, My dad always purchased cars from his know fellows like czns, friends, colleagues, so we never verified cars and never faced any issue after and later. First time we purchased car through olx... as per mine and father's experience we checked chassis no. seems fine, accident: not found, yes there are touch ups below roof. checked file it's all clear as 1st owner was a company and 2nd transfer is on the name of person from whom we purchased but that transfer has been done last week, registration no. is of Lahore and token paid up to 30-06-2016. New token stickers are available having green and orange color. i checked online verification, Engine no. Chassis no. model, details along with fist owner are mentioned with token paid showed up to 30-06-2015. May be due to data base new token and transferred details are not shown. Issue is based on experience i doubt on Engine no. showed to father he said it's punched... we were in hurry and searching for car from last 10 days and having pressure from family to buy car as we need to go for xyz work.... that guy showed patience and gave us choice to verify, i have no issues whereas car is with me since 2010 and i bought in same condition, (no idea weather it's true or not) he also said if you don't want to buy no issue i will go back... but my father said as per rule if engine has been changed so new engine no. should be transferred on book instead of punching book's engine no. on new engine.... Well finally we purchased that car as my father said mostly people do same if there would be chassis issue i should have rejected this car. Now issue is for this car i arranged loan of 1 lac and don't want to loose money for wrong purchase.
Suggestion i actually need is that should i return this car today by absorbing PKR 10K to 15K if he agrees to return the car... or i should be facing problem at the time of selling this car? Major suggestion required if on road any where Police or Excise check vehicle physically and they also found that Engine no. is punched then would they seeze the car or is it possible that i will face these kind of problems??? if yes there would be fear always while driving this car on long... I need expert Advice. please help.
