Its just a tube that passes gases made by the engine.

Then you have to fly wild and expensive to attain some speed from it...that power/speed can only be realized by gadgets which is why titanium exhaust are the new trend because they save weight and over all engine design and exhaust design helps save wasted power/energy thats all. And that too we're talking about high-end performance cars.
