Mobiles with Built in GPS doesn't need any data plan to acquire GPS coordinates (N xx" W xx" etc ) from the satellites. If u dont have maps installed on your phone, it connects using your data services to the internet and display you position or route after matching your coordinates acquired by built in GPS.

So if u have maps installed than there is no need to connect to internet.

dear i wanna ask you that my company has send me to uae & saudia for a project, so i am in uae & i have to cover both uae & saudia but here roads name are difficult & it is very difficult to drive when u dont know ways.

kindly tell me i am planning to buy N95, how can i use it & please tell me from where can i get maps of UAE & SAUDIa arbai ,all cities,

due to my project i have to travel around 65 cities in both countries, please help me in finding maps soon because due to it my work is suffering & i cannot concentrate on project due to lost in driving

keep in mind i have never used navigator before but after reading ur thread,so help me from scratch
it encourages me & also tell me when i return to khi, how will i have to change setting but 1st give me uae & saudia maps
