So what was the purpose of cleaning blower fins?

Not only fins but dust Collected under fan-blade by using air blower.
And One can also replace instead of cleaning after watching this.

I usually like your DIYs but I would disagree with this one. Removal of CNG kit means removal, not cutting and taping wires It's a recipe for future disaster.
Complete wiring harness of CNG kit should have been removed.

Ok Understandable. I haven't used my CNG kit since 2009 I guess Just left the injectors there.
