@ Coolarian. Bro you are in trouble because now you would be having great difficulty in selling your car. I had a civic earlier, which has orignal book but duplicate file because its orignal file was lost. In order to get a duplicate copy, we filled an fir as well as add in newspaper. But unfortunately, didnt found it. Despite my car was bumper to bumper in orignal paint and in immensly good condition. Even then, the samanabad and jail road investors were not willing to buy my car at a lower price. Some people say you loose 1 lakh from the actual prevailing price in the market. But luckily i sold may car, without loosing a penny. Thanks God.

So my advice, try to find it. If you cant, make a duplicate file and use your car as much as you can.

Thanks Mubeen! It is Cuore 2006. Used as second car since date of purchase. I wasnt aware of the fact that its file is lost but last week i checked for it and found it missing. Kindly let me know what documents are required to file application for issueance of Duplicate file. In case i found my documents laters shall i need to return duplicate file to Excise and Taxation department?

@ Coolarian. Bro, get the duplicate file issuance form from excise, they have mentioned each and everything on it. But as far as i remember, you must have to submit orignal fir copy and newspaper cutting. That would be put in your duplicate file. Indus will also issue you duplicate reciepts.

In case you find orignal one, just dont tell the buyer that it was ever lost and keep duplicate one with you.

Hi all,

I also lost the file of my papers of Suzuki 2004. Here is the procedure which i followed.

1. Go for a FIR

2. Publish in 2 news papers and save cuttings with you.

3. An application to Company Manager.

4. An affidavit stating that you ll inform company if i found my lost file.

i sent these docs to Suzuki pakistan and they send me two letters (Invoice and NOC).

I submitted these to Excise office and they issued a file BUT marked "DUPLICATE FIle ISSUED" at my original registration book. These was done almost free where as the touts sitting outside excise office were asking 25,000 RS for this.

Dealers reduce the price for such car but a genuine buyer who wana use it at home will not reduce that much, Max 10-15 k but with out file it will be in Lakhs (depends upon car).

Hi which file you are talking about? I am in Islamabad and here you just need the orginal registration book. Only a duplicate registration book vehicle has low resale.

Once your car gets registered, I think you do not need Indus invoices and sutff.

@autophile In islamabad E&T office keep orignal file with them. this is their responsibility to keep it safe. however you can go and see orignal file after covering a procedure. in other cities they return the orignal file to owner to keep it safe.

i have leased car and also donot have original file , only registration book , i think in leased case , Banker have original file , but i am also hearing this thing first time

Car original documents are now handed over to owner in Lahore and its their responsibility to keep it safe. This change was made in 2006 (i think) as i dont have original document file with me for any of my other cars purchased in 2001 and 2005

             Returning of orignal file to the ownerrs in Lahore started from 2001 from the LR Series, before that it was responsibility of the excise to keep the files in a secure place.

and why will the car sell fro less with out the file when the data of the car is all online and there is a booklet of the car doesn't make sense

I have lost my original car documents, i need to travel to murree i have the FIR paper and a taxation paper im qorried the police will stop my car and impound it, will they? Isnt the fir valid for situations like this? please help

3. with FIR copy right a letter to Manufacturer to issue duplicate sale receipt registration letter
4. when you get duplicate sale receipt n registration letter
5. submit to Excise with Chai Pani
6. yo will get duplicate file

I have bought a car with duplicate book but owner has given me original file n documents also which he found inhome after getting duplicate book.
Can we go to excise n ask them to take back duplicate and let us use original file n book ?
