i wud strongly recommend u give cleaning a try before removing it, u may not like the sound of ur car after removing it if ur a stock settings freak like me (the OEM way).

Catalytic Converter / Low Sulfur Diesel etc etc. are all made to control & handle environmental situations for countries such as U.S, E.U where it's totally ILLEGAL to remove a catalytic converter, and if you do so, u will have to pay 1000's of dollars for polluting their country environment.

Catalytic Converter is simply a LAME USELESS material. its a BIG BLOCKING BARRIER in your exhaust system!!

Some engines are designed in such a way, have chips/I.C's to detect the removal of ur catalytic system as international standards, so a person doe'snt removes it, it warns you, but that all warning is useless & non-genuine. Remove all catalytic connected i.c's & circuits to let ur vehicle run on standard otherwise ur i.c will keep telling the fuel/exhaust system via wrong back pressure etc etc. Removal of those circuits is very necessary before removing catalytic converters, esp in new cars.

& if u dont maintain ur catalytic converter on TIME, it gets HEAT up. LOT OF HEAT!! it can even reach upto 500 Degree Celsius, causing harm to your GEARBOX system.

Concluding, Simply Catalytic converter in Pakistan is a PAIN in da BRAIN! REMOVE it & Enjoy simple engineering!

fuma is 100% rite ,,,, plus removing Cat give us some minor extra HP due to removal of that blockage in exhaust , install a mid pipe , the car will be bit loud.

converters are installed to meet government regulations. The whole lobby nakhra of environmentalists and their battle with car manufactureres.

most probably the truth is that 1500 cc bech buggy pollutes far more than a nicely built land cruiser! w/o a converter even

long story short - throw it out. its done its job. Even a jammed fuel filter CAN be cleaned, but the cleaning won't be effective. its run out its life. similarly converter has run out its life. its needs to be REPLACED. and it reduces performance.

IF noise happens, a good mechanic will be able to handle and get rid of the noise. replacing your converter in this market, is neither required legally nor is it of any benefit.

The reason that HP is steadily going up in the world for last ten years, is because govt. regulations are becoming tighter n tigghter. so germans are making it bigger and bigger :-)... get the drift?

Fuma is right, i would again second it! - get rid of it , and to satisfy yourself you can obv. do your own research that converters aren't cleaned they are LONG service parts and are replaced after expiry.

its a no brainer to get rid of it, to be honest.
i move for removal . trash. kapeesh. Khalas.. kahllee wallee.

I have a Nissan wingroad 2006. Catalytic converter filter on both units are removed by previous owner or his mechanic.
Actually problem started with my car being super sluggish. My mechanic told me that gear is such at 3rd. He told me that my gear electronic kit is bad.
Any electrician told me that it's due to bad cat.cov. When I went to a cat cleaner but there I got to know that the metal filter was removed on both cat. Cov.
The guy told me that he can arrange it for 55k. Bilal ganj has none.
If removal is easy, can someone explain the whole procedure of removing it and replacing it with something else, how to remove the sensors effectively etc.
