my dad's galaxyS3 verizon suddenly refuses to accept network and says 'un registered on network'...we go in settings and change it to global and restarts and then again occasionaly is refuses to accept network again...

what to do as it becomes useless in the middle anywhere without network

Guys facing another problem also , occasionally my sms are not being received neither delivered , but when I restart the device , every thing becomes fine for few hours , is there any solution for this?

Dad had a similar issue, he was on Mobilink.
He got a new SIM issued and everything was fine.

Phone has been blacklisted most probably.
Try any other SIM in it, if you still can't connect to a network then it's blocked.

Same thing happened with my S5, one day it just stopped connecting to Warid.
I tried Telenor as well but it wouldn't connect.
Turned out it was blacklisted

What do you mean by simple re-root?

Un root won't fix it, neither will factory reset. Only reinstalling rom via Odin will bring it back to official state.

Turn off the phone.

Turn on the phone by pressing power + volume down simultaneously and keep the volume down button pressed until phone starts. Safe mode will be written on the lower left side. Use the phone and now it will run fast, true?

So was my S5.
After a reboot, it would connect to Warid, SMS and calls, and 4G would work.
Then after a little while it would say Emergency Calls Only and the signal bars would disappear.

Both problems are major bro, because if motherboard is damaged then phone will not work even turn on, and if digitizer's issue, then it is useless because of no response from the display ...
About repairable, i would not suggest you to repair, get those parts new ...
About cost, i dont know about sony phones much, but ap ko pata hi ho ga ky china aur original cheez mai kitna aur kya difference hota hai ...
