They say it 'maybe' detected, but it could actually be due to different signatures, not because of actual malware. I tested it on CM Security, it scans everything and passed the scan. What device are you using now?
That app gives control over less permissions, but still they are enough.
There was some xposed module of managing app permissions that i can't recall now. That was tricky as it allowed to manage all permissions, but too much managing of permissions may break the app features and crashing etc.
Since you are using rooted phone, install cerebrus too, for phone theft protection. It installs as a system app (on rooted device) and even survives a factory reset. You can still control the device remotely (via sms commands) even after factory reset in case of theft!
