I have used many phones, atleast for few days, S6 is one of them [emoji4].

But my primary phone is ALWAYS entry to mid range phone, for some very interesting reasons.

Light sensor calibration.
Btw, you already know it, but just posting it on the forum, so that someone else could benefit from it, as many people curse Quad HD display phones for awful battery timings.

S6 has over bright display, much brighter than competitors and excellent sunlight legibility. So it's a good idea to re-calibrate the light sensor to limit max brightness to 50% on auto brightness mode. It also helps a lot in improving screen on times, overall battery timings and reducing eye strain.

P.S, most phones have over bright display on auto brightness mode. Lux auto brightness is a good app for light sensor adjustments.

I know many chinese people who swear by Xiaomi when it comes to best value for money smartphones, but there is very poor after sales service here in Pakistan.

So when thinking of buying an unofficial phone, the number one factor to consider is, after sales service.

Quality and functionality wise, they are very good and reliable. I never used Redmi note 2, but I have checked atleast 15 Xiaomi phones and found them to be satisfactorily good.

I don't worry about after sale value I am in habit of using the phone till it dies or at least pass two to three years presently using Nexus 4 since last two years its an awesome set but now I want dual sim 4g and slightly bigger screen

My strategy is to buy a flagship phone about a year and a half after its initial release ( I bought my G2 a few months after the G3 was launched) as the prices go down by then. I then use the phone for atleast two years. After two years i then decide whether i feel like upgrading. Sometimes the new models arent worth upgrading either e.g G3 etc.
I've seen a lot of people changing phones every year and adding lets say 8-10k from what they get after selling the previous phone. If you simply save those 10K every year then after 3 years you have 30K. Nowadays you get a hell of a smartphone in 30K or if you know someone living abroad they might get you can request them to buy something for you on Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc.
So personally i dont give a **** about the resale value as long as im using something I like.

Thats an interesting approach mate. Not everyone thinks on those lines. All i can say here is...to each his own!

Soon I'll going to Karachi from Lahore via 'Karakram Express' Train and from what I've heard, the journey could take as much as 24 Hours!
So, I was wondering if there's an ultra battery saving app for Android 4.1 which I could install on my 'ancient' Galaxy Ace 2 to save on power?
It has a TINY 1,500mAh 'POWERPLANT' and barely lasts me 2 Hour of constant net on 3G.
I've heard that Galaxy S5/6 can last a whole week on 'ultra-saving' mode that only allows call/text over GSM (2G) and turns the screen into Black & White!
Since I'll be only calling and texting during the ride so I won't mind if my phone turns into a modern 3310!

Apps like Clean Master and Battery Saver are absolute BS. They don't work, at all. They do more harm than good. They may free up RAM, but that kills some important processes and background apps, so when WhatsApp takes a little longer than usual to open, it's because Clean Master killed it to free RAM. Same for your homescreen, if it stutters or lags a bit, its because Clean Master keeps free-ing up RAM.

IMO, the only app that should be used to improve performance is the built-in Smart Manager app on S6, S6 Edge and new Samsung devices. It works great and S6 doesn't lag at all.
Makes a big improvement on my Note Edge too.

Don't ever install, apps that say they can do the following
-Make your phone faster
-Improve battery life
-Kill background apps
-Memory Booster
-Clean Master

They're all BS. The reason they have hundreds of thousands of downloads, is because people fall for the stuff they say and download them thinking it's making the phone faster.

If your phone is slow, there could be 2 reasons:

1. You have one of the apps mentioned above installed.

2. Your phone sucks and/or is old.

The only ultra power saving for your phone is, safe mode, airplane mode and a power bank [emoji14].

@crossfirex Motorola Phones aren't available here anymore! Alas, we don't get that many nice phones here! No Nexus, No Motorola, No Blackberry (they used be sold here, not anymore) and most importantly, no FLIP PHONES!
I'm dying for a nice sturdy flip phone right now!
Anyhow, According to our latest trend, our first and foremost priority is Samsung Galaxy Series. And if we can't afford a Galaxy, we go the China Mobiles way which includes companies like Huawei, HTC, Qmobile, and Infinix etc!
Our trend are rather... Er... 'TRENDY', don't you think?
LIKE A DUMB SHEEP, WE JUST FOLLOW THE REST OF THE 'HERD' MINDLESSLY!
We don't seem to care about uniqueness, or perhaps a little bit of exploration!
And thats what makes our country ripe for any monopolistic business!

Since the 8GB/1GB sells for 25k.

I'd say 30k seems more than fair for the 16GB/2GB version.

There is one right next to cafe zouk in SMCHS. A friend traded in his nexus 5 a few days back there. The handset was used as a second set and is clean. Let me ask him if its still available. Check with me via pm later in the afternoon today please.

I think parts availability here could be a big issue.

Parts are pretty hard to find. I've seen a few displays for 1st Gen Moto Gs. But nothing more. Repairing Motorola phones in Pakistan is damn near impossible unless you import the parts and do it yourself.
