Redmi 8A is a good enough phone, given the price (17k). But nothing spectacular.
On the plus side, it has a huge display with GG5, huge 5,000mAh battery, USB-C with 18W fast charging support, compass sensor and lastly, the Snapdragon 439 SoC which is a fairlly good SoC.
On the downside its back camera is garbage with extremely limited dynamic range, there's no fingerprint scanner, no depth sensor, no wide angle lens, no macro lens, no optical or electronic image stabilization and lastly; the RAM is just 2GB which is quite limited.
Personally, I simply can't overlook the lack of a fingerprint scanner, and being a self proclaimed amature photographer; neither its sub-par camera performance.
For just 5k more, you can buy the Realme 5 3GB variant, which is better in almost all imaginable aspects with quad-camera setup (Main cam is comparable to old flagships, check my post above), an 11nm Snapdragon 665 SoC (Again, comparable to old flagships with Snapdragon 820 and 821) and an ad free UI with great RAM management and software optimization.
In my opinion: OxygenOS > Stock Android > Samsung's OneUI > Oppo/Realme ColorOS > MIUI.
Anyhow, I hope it helps.
