First of All Make sure that it is not CDMA.
And You must have to contact some expert first to ask if its could be unlocked.

yes Warranty Comes with Price.

10K phone in 13.5 K.
40K phone in 46K Just an Example.

I think lot of are guys in PK are buying cell phones in PK without warranty. Especially phones like Iphone, & some more exotic phones.
There is no such harm in purchasing phone without warranty but you have to make sure that its not refurbished.(Cox this could have some serious Prob).

and usually these phones can be used for Years with care.

Nokia n900 is very old model and its almost use less coz memo don't have decent apps too. Rest its battery life is not impressive either what's your range???
