No bro Beats Audio is just a gloried amplifier. But all the today's HTC phones does have a dedicated chip inside for Beats.

Poweramp never sounds good on default settings,it is all about ur preference,though im addicted to it from one x,s3,desire v and now galaxy nexus.i tried stock player and then poweramp on my settings.50% difference for sure with better surround effects
