i am using an s4 black edition s4 i9505.
as you people know, that s4 black edition was produced just for the european market, therefore it operates only European sims. and to make it work in pak, it was rooted. now the problem is that i want to update the software to kitkat 4.4. its running 4.3 right now.
suggest me some non risky way to do it.

Well never did any thing like that before but as you can upgrade it to newer version so update it and then again root it.

Can anyone tell for how much will my Note3 sell for? Conditon is 9/10, a very minor dent on one side but no chrome fade, overall fone looks very good all accesories with box but no warranty. I am located in Lahore, so if anyone is familiar with the market rate do tell me.

as you people know, that s4 black edition was produced just for the european market, therefore it operates only European sims. and to make it work in pak, it was rooted. now the problem is that i want to update the software to kitkat 4.4. its running 4.3 right now.

After rooting some baseband and modem must have been flashed .If it's already rooted and bootloader unlocked you won't get official update, i guess. You can unroot and lock bootloader for an official update. Another hassle free and safe method is install custome recovery and flash as many 4.4 roms you want.

Never kept any Samsung device so have no knowledge about its SW, root and boot loader. I gave you general solution applicable to all Android devices.Root is not available for 4.4? If yes just go ahead update and if you face network issue again root and flash same modem. Btw what's difference between normal and black?

Who said that this is only for european market, you can buy black edition from anywhere as well as now a days in pakistan too !
For software concern, just go to sammobile website and download your phone's official firmware, then flash it via odin !
You will also recieve official updates after doing this ....

Edit: plus there is no difference between normal i9505 & black edition i9505 !

Black edition was produced for just european market.They are available in pakistan too but they are being imported from europe. Mine is from romania. On the box, there is written that european sim cards only. And ive heard from people and have read online that using any other sim card to activate the phone, will block the phone and will have to be unlocked by a samsung service centre in europe. Now the thing that confuses me is that after i update it, and put in my pakistani sim card in it, will it get blocked/locked?
My phone was bought from singapore plaza and it was already rooted.

Black edition is dark black in colour and has leather back like the note 3. It has differemt original wallpapers, sounds and the boot up animation.

If it is rooted, then u can flash any firmware !
But i recommend you to flash custom rom, because samsung's firmware sucks !!!

Don't flash CM. If S4 roms work in Black just flash some good Stock base odexed and debloated rom with all samsung goodies . Usually they are less crappy as compared to stock laggy touchwiz.
