Huawei's are very good phones too! You can go for Huawei G610s in your budget. It's one great cell. @vajih102
You also have the option of HTC One V, and HTC Desire 300.
But I'll not go with HTC b'coz HTC suck big time in lower end smartphones.
Go for Core 2 or HTC One V or Desire 300!

It depends on how you use It? Would It be roughly used?
If reliability is your point then try Nokia Window's phone.
Believe me I have used them, they're awesome, and very durable too! Much better then Samsung's plastic ****!

What I meant is that often accidentally we drop the phones. Some like iPhone are very rigid others just can't stand it and either the screen breaks or the body. Are Nokia Windows phones good and user friendly?

They are very user friendly indeed and they're very rigid.
Did you see my Nokia Lumia 510 thread? That phone took the shock of a bullet!
You can also go for Iphone 4s used.

Will go for a brand new set only. Used ones can be good but are a gamble. Dabba pack set ki baat hi aur hoti hai

Since your mother would use It, Windows phone would do the work perfectly!
Go for Lumia 625.

First decide whether you want qmobile, g five etc or a HTC, iPhone, Sony samsung etc

Naam ki he Hongi bro. I kept 3gs from 2009-2013 and it didn't even run viber properly and got stuck in text message app.

Moreover 90 percent of the old iPhones in then market have dead batteries. That's why I suggested against them because it won't sell easily.

Better go for Q mobile a600, a500, a900 in 7-8k range. Affordable, usable and resalable.

No bro. QMobile models that can be found used for around 7-8000 Rs with upto 1gb ram and quad core processors are actually nice to try. Better than 3gs.

Got my mum a Windows Phone. It's easy to use and the unwanted features just push off to the side. She loves it!
You can get a 620 for 20K but it's better to go for the 630 for 23K.
