Thankyou so much China for your vehicles. What i want to know is that back in China, which Chinese car manufacturer sells the most cars? How many?Where do the Chinese manufacturers fare in Top 10 manufacturer/number of units sold within mainland China. I have talked to people who frequent China on trips, they say Chinese are big fans of US cars.... My suspicion is their own cars don't fare well even in China, then why should Pakistan market be receptive?

Even these rankings are kind of unrepresentative since many of them own a plethora of brands playing in sme segments.

BAIC, dfsk, Changan and SAIC are there big 4 brands.

Each produces and sells hundreds of thousands of vehicles a year.

As they're new entrants in other international markets specially western.. they have to work quite a bit hard to gain fame and reputation just like Korean brands struggled a lot in the start.

Many people still don't rely on Korean brands kia Hyundai and go straight to toyota for reliability.

Let's see if these top chinese brands can make their name here. Changan seems to be serious.

So following is the analysis of Top 10 players.
1. Among Top 10 list 3 are Chinese players ranked at 4,7 & 8 position.
2. Non Chinese 7 brands sell approx 9.34 million units representing 78% market share.
3. Chinese players sell 2.7 million units representing 22% market share
4. VW is the undisputed king. Outsells the nearest rival Honda by 2:1 , Changan by 4:1.

Being a Wagon R VXR owner, Alsvin base model seems to be decent upgrade for me if it costs closer to Cultus AGS because recently I was planning upgrade to Cultus AGS. I delayed my upgrade as soon as I came to know about Alsvin launch.

In my view , Changan should keep their Alsvin's prices as low as possible in their first few years to make their place in the market share . Once it occupies a certain market share , it should then increase its price accordingly. If it comes between 15-20 lacs , it will be able to occupy a certain market share due to big difference in its price as compared to Big 3's. Otherwise , possibilities are there that it becomes a second Faw company because public will prefer to buy an old Corolla rather than buying a new car of a new company which still has to make its name in the market.
