Sharing my experience of Oshan X7 FS facelift, with 9,500 KMs on the ODO. My previous rides were: City, CIVIC reborn, CIVIC X, Corolla Gli, Sportage AWD, Alsvin and Elantra, so I have experience of sedans and crossovers and a number of assemblers and their dealerships.
I took the delivery of the vehicle in Sep-24 from Changan Multan Motors on Khanewal Road (GT Road). I availed their Ceramic Coating and Under Body Coating package.
The Product:
1. The car is an absolute joy to drive and seeing its body frame and wheel base one cannot believe the impressive pull which becomes immediately evident, once we step in and hit the pedal. Sportage though 2.0 NA with conventional AT was pretty sluggish!
2. DCT is an entirely new experience, one needs to be acquainted with to enjoy this ride. It takes its time to go from R to D, especially requires the car to be brought to a halt before moving, so you better not rush it.
3. Ride is comfortable for long journeys (i frequent M3, M4 and M2), though lumbar support would have been a huge plus. Miss my Sportage!
4. Paint Quality is subpar. My vehicle color is black and it has 2 spots on the rear door (driver / right side) and the rear pillar near roof rail. These spots look greyish rather than black. These have been there since the car came, but sadly I didn't notice these at the time of delivery; just a day after! Sportage paint quality was top notch!
5. Front Pillars are so wide that they create blind spot in my opinion which makes navigating turns quite challenging coupled with the size of the vehicle. Miss my Sportage!
6. Head Lamps could have been improved either in lumens (power) or positioning (from being in the bumper!). Miss Sportage's brilliant LEDs!
7. The max mileage i was able to obtain so far on Comfort Driving Mode is 9L/100KMs which comes out at 11 KM/L. I don't understand how people get even 13 from it! The mileage i have given here is on 129 cruise!
8. Adaptive Cruise, 360 degrees camera, 4-wndows Auto, Remote Start, TPMS are uber luxury! Don't miss Sportage!
Manual Back-View Mirror. Miss my Sportage's Auto Dimming Mirror!
9. HMI is just Ok. A few times it forgot to turn off music when car was locked, so had to put it out manually. HMI can't stay in a folder of songs selected, instead it ignores folders on each new start and considers all songs as a single playlist being played alphabetically. Miss my Sportage!
Master Changan Experience:
Responsive Customer Service and Support. I had the same problem of the clock being 3-hours ahead of PST. Got in touch with Multan dealership and they were of no help. Then got in touch with Master Changan and they issued me a complaint number and kept me engaged, often requiring me to send pictures, videos, etc. I got in touch with them in Oct-24 and i was called to visit any dealership for an upgrade to HMI OS in Nov-24. No problem ever since.
The Company is cognizant of its nascent entry in Pakistan and is thus considerate to customer complaints.
Changan Multan Experience:

Its mixed.
Ceramic Coating experience which has a 1-year warranty was not satisfactory. When i took delivery of the vehicle I was informed that it will need to be re-inspected and another coat will be required in 1 week time. I was also asked to not wash the vehicle during this 1 week. When i took the vehicle back to them exactly after 1 week, all they did was give it a body wash!
First maintenance at 1k KMs was done by Changan Multan and the 5k KMs maintenance was done at around 3k KMs because of the earlier of time vs mileage condition. This second maintenance i got from Changan City Sales in Lahore (not a very good experience, they took USB flash drive from me to give me the HMI OS upgrade).
Dealership staff at maintenance bays are ok, but could be better in terms of discipline, care and customer experience.
Spare Parts shop people need to improve. They are too slow and extremely exhausted any time you visit. Part prices seem to be at par with other assemblers and their dealerships. I lost rubber seals for 2 of my door switches and no replacement was available. I need to get the door switches replaced!
Body Shop team is a bit better than others.
However a colleague of mine had a nightmarish experience with Changan Multan Motors even after involving its owner, Mr. Hassan Iqbal.
He sent his vehicle for a problem with auto-tailgate function which had stopped working, after having visited dealerships at Karachi and Islamabad, who failed to identify and resolve the issue. Technicians at Changan Multan though identified and resolved the tailgate problem, caused a new and much more stressful problem. The vehicle's rear left door got a dent while remaining in their custody for 3 days in Jan-25. His car was newer than mine (took delivery in Oct-24) and he had its complete PPF done from Multan, only 2 days after delivery. The dent was spotted by him when he went to the dealership to take delivery of the vehicle. The dent clearly showed signs of repairs with paint touchups that had left mark on the PPF. Moreover the PPF had been removed and re-installed and this was clearly evident from its ends near the door handle and the window trim. He initially lodged a complaint with the dealership and its owner, however had to get to Master Changan who sent their own representative from Karachi to Multan to inspect the vehicle and investigate the matter. Unfortunately but expectedly, the Changan Multan dealership and also Master Changan denied the incident having taken place at dealership citing examination of numerous CCTV feeds in maintenance hall, however these were neither shared with the customer, nor timely seized by Master Changan motors.
Since my colleague's vehicle was cleaned on a daily basis, the dent was not there when the vehicle was received by the dealership and occurred inside the dealership, most likely being hit by a tool or an equipment since it was being inspected for the tailgate fault next to the wheel alignment bay!
Furthermore, the way dent was repaired and touched up followed by removal and re-installation of PPF, it is obvious that this was done in haste and as a cover up. My colleague offered them to just confess to the wrong done to the vehicle while in their custody and he was willing to let go of the event, but of course for the dealership that costs reputation!
I just hope no one ever have to face such a stressful ordeal.
