I think the prices shared by Olx are correct. I came to know from anther source. Currently Deepal vehicles will be CBU so they will be expensive.

Also, it's useless to compare price in China with Pakistan. It's their local product. Every part is made in China. So ignore the prices in China.

The price of Nepal is in Nepali Rupees, not PKR. Nepal's Rs. 74,99,000 is approx PKR 15,593,120 which is introductory price in Nepal.

Both Deepal models are big vehicles. S07 is size of Fortuner and Santa Fe. L07 sedan size is same as Sonata.
The price is fine considering it's CBU. I was expecting even higher prices. But I don't think it will sell good until it's localized (CKD) and reduce the price further.

Yesterday, I visited the Deepal showroom at Dolmen Mall in Karachi. The salesperson said the Deepal S07 SUV costs 16.5 crores, plus an additional 70 lakhs in taxes according to the Changan team. I'm not lying, this is what I was told by the Changan team.

I took this Deepal for a test drive. It's the best! I am interested in purchasing the Deepal S07, however, the high price, which is a result of taxes and shipping fees, is a problem. If the car is not affordable and the government taxes are unfair, would you still buy it? It is important to consider using solar panels. The previous government actually tried to make sense of all the ridiculous regulations working against the EVs but various departments + some members of the government and the existing auto-industry pushed back and made things even more convoluted.

So I don't expect things to change much regardless of the government until the bureaucracy and their "lobbyists" are dealt with.

Because they can sell CBU units before that to gauge the market.

An car assembly plant isn't something you can carry in your school lunchbox. An entire manufacturing plant needs to be built and it takes years. Along with that, they are planning to build the charging infrastructure in major parts of the country as well. This all takes time.

Also, Mega / HUBCO is publicly listed company on the stock exchange. They're legally required to disclose any major investments and business deals to their shareholders and the stock market itself. Since they had to disclose what their plans anyways, going a step further and creating some hype in the market doesn't hurt.
