Charade 87 Undergoing A Swap (Suggestions Are Welcome)

. right now the car is with denter and painter and its nearly fnished .will keep u updated

@Xulfiqar firstly . saying some one DUMB is not a really mature and refined way of communication and yes u must be sorry for that .
as for the swaping of toyota engine in charade is concerned . this decision has been taken after looking around the market and its diffrent aspect . the diahatsu engine u r refreing to is 1300cc 16 v single cam (sohc) engine where as the toyota engine 5E is 1300 cc 16v double or twin cam (DOHC) . and i THINK UR NOT aware of the fact that DOHC ENGINE HAVE MORE POWER AND HP THEN A SOHC ENGINE .
plus the toyota engines are more know for thier more relaiblity then diahatsu engines so thats another plus for toyota
thirdly the spares of toyota 5E engines are commonly avaialble in market where as the spares of diahatsu engines are not commonly avaialble so thats another plus for toyota engines

last but not least toyota engines are avialble in large numbers so one has the option of chosing the best among many engines where as in the whole rawalpindi and peshawer engine i was only able to find 5-6 diahtsu 16v

another thing that u may wanna know is that 5EFE has better LOW END TORQUE then DIAHATSU 16V engine

the ftting of 5EFE in my charade is close to genuine fittting. only one mount has been changed and i have placed a engine guardry due to which very less alteration was required

as for the roaring of lion or toyota kitten sound is concerned well i wish ur friend was in rwp/isb so that this could have been deicided very easily .

anyway thats MY 2 CENTS and every one has got thier own freedom of choices and favourties so if u like diahatsu engine then go for it.i liked toyotas engine so i went for it.

As I said - no offense, and being a forum dont get touchy

but what have you done to make the driveshafts work - weld them somewhere?? - the splines are too different to work..and the G100 doesnt have the undercarriage straight brace that the G102 (HC engine car) has.. it prevents the chassis legs from splitting their welds..

and topping it the hc spares are available more cheaply than toyota ones in khi

even if they have the same 22.5 degree valve angle and even less valve lift? Its not about having 2 cams in your head its about how your engine is setup to breathe.. weight etc..

ever wonder why a silly SOHC suzuki G16A/B motor runs for the money while a similar capacity 4afe lags

@xulfiqar even though it is a open forum,selecton of words could have been beeter than what u chosed

there is no welding in the shaft (or as u call it goda) the inner parts of goda is from toyota and the outer part is diahatsu combineed togather by a kharadia. u r right upto the extent thet welding is not an option in shaft bz it totally unreliable where as what i have done is totally reliable
on top of it the remaing suspension is from diahatasu it self . to prevent more problem IN FUTURE a ENGINE STRUT BAR HAS BEEN PURCHASED AND search is in progress for back strut bar and side strut bars

as for the parts of diahtsu engine r concerned . they might be easily availble in karachi but they are not easily AVAIALBLE in rwp/isb .so that also prevented me for opting the dihatsu engine

in short i personally like TOYOTA ENGINES MORE THEN diahatsu so that was the reason i opted for it and i need a daily runner car not a money making car by some ricer

Its A Long Discussion If We Started Discussing SOHC/DOHC Issues....Done It Once And It Went To Long...In Short Both Have Merits/Demerits.......!! Still 16v SOHCs Are made As Well As DOHC 16v Also....So Its About Technology And Design.....!!
As Far As Choice Is Concerned If I am On Place Of Azzicol...I Will Do Same...Maybe 4AFE/5AFE...
Its Matter Of Choice...Some Do D15's...Some 4A 4E 4E...Some 4EFTE's...4AGE's B16's...!!
In Short..G100 Can Take All Of Them Swap What You Like...!!

@azzicol... A bit of correction Bro....!! 4E-FE Is 1300cc 5EFE Is 1500cc......Both Are Identical but different displacement.....!!
You wrongly mentioned above 5EFE..Its 4EFE You Have I think Just To Clear Misconceptions...Letting you know....!!

a little friendly advice, there are two arm subassemblies bolted to the chassis rails of a G100, they would have 2 holes each in them - what you need to do is take a 18 guage pipe about 1 inch wide and bolt it into place there, it prevents the body from flexing sideways itself, and is original on the G102 shell and also comes original on the GTti charade, the top brace is not that important on this car the bottom one is..

@ser_gtr sir gee. here is the scene .when i purchased the engine . i asked for 4efe and they told me that this engine is a 4efe and but the intake was a bit difffrent so i asked some other mechnaic and they told me that this intake is called tabular intake and this intake came in 1999 then after the swap i wanted to get the engine purchase reciept so when i looked for the engine number on the engine block . just next to engine number was written 5efe. i also looked on the tining belt sheet and also on that its written 5efe. as much as i am aware 4efe and 5efe both are 1300 cc but the intakes are diffrent due to which 5efe has 3-4 more horse power then 4efe
i am not 100 % sure so correct me if i am wrong
other engine experts please give ur input

Well 5EFE is 1500 CC and in some cases around 10 to 15 BHP more than 4EFE.

the arm = in karachi mechanic language qenchi
sub assembly = the thing the qenchi is mounted on

get under your car and you'll know what Im talking about, if the holes are not on the subassy - take it out and drill them in there. then weld some 10mm nuts behind the holes or just use a nut bolt combo.

I know what your lathe guy mustve done to the CVs grafted two rzeppa cups together to accept the toyota shaft and spider and the outer hub mount would be of a G100 daihatsu - common practice in Pakistan but you end up in a situation where the CVs are always repaired not replaced. anyways speaking of the inlet mani this inlet mani came original in the silly looking round light 99 model corolla (which I hate with a passion) nothing different it just had a bigger resonator box in the airfilter assy, same torque and power etc.. not that an E engine can be expected to scream like a banshee due to this manifold

5EFE max makes 100hps....one version also make around 92-94....!!
5EFE is 1500cc..4EFE is 1300...if its 5E written then it must be 5E-FE
There also comes 5EFHE Which came back in sera and is rated at 110hp..
that engine know for its solid Connecting rods....!! suitable for boosting applications

Azi muft main maza hogaye Dalwaya tha 4EFE nikla 5EFE hehe.. I remember in Banu they had few smuggled laptops and pathans sold them as bara wala calculator for few hundred rupees they later found it its a cumputor so ab prices are in thousands. Idher bhi kuch aisa he hova hai.

i checked with wikipedia and other sources and yes ur right 5efe is 1.5 liter engine . as vaqas said lene gaye tha 1.3 aur la aee 1.5 . YEH TO MUJA HEE MUJAA
@ser_gtr sir gee other then CC wats the other diffrence betwen these both. any diffrence in conecting rod and also can this be altered or not

the car is nearly finished .got some decor to do.other then that mechanically and paint wise its done. also got some interior work and sound system remaining

well some more pictures after the denting was done and before the piant

also got new springs for the back shoks as after CNG fitting the car was very low from back. these sproings are bigger in size and also in height. these are kind of sports spring

the front skirt was removed bz every time i go to a lower place the front skirt use to touch ground and get broken

the river seat and passnegers seta got new covers and back seat was remade with new phone and cloths
