I am planning to have Charade 86 ... Please guide me on these points ..

1- What is cost of average/good condition charade 86 (Pertrol/CNG/NO AC)
2- Parts availability in RWP / Islamabad
3- Parts Costs

Please reply .. because I have to make decision tomorrow.

Average 86 should cost you around 150k.
All parts are available in Rwp / Isl.
Parts cost may be a bit higher than Khyber or Mehran but I think they're durable.

Why don't you go for 88 shape?

I have seen one 87 model (registered in 94) silver color .. awesome condition/look. but the price was way high than my pocket .. the guy was asking for 280K

Guys I have bought Charade 86. Its awesome. Drive experience cannot be compared with Mehran.

I want to spend some money on it. Let me know alignment, axles, Heater, AC, Wiring, CD Player and Body workers for charade in Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

You are very right Hassan Bhai...you can see my Charade 86 model back in this thread i have posted its pictures here ... my ride is full genuine both from interior n exterior (Petrol / CNG / A.C / Heater) every thing in perfect working condition and two times different dealers came to my house and offered my up to 190K for it, but i didnt sell it... So the main thing is you cannot find a good reasonable 86 Charade in ur budget so you have to raise it to 190K or 200K otherwise you ll daily visit some workshops for repairing purposes.

Charade ka maza lena hay to bhai koi original charade dhondo Agar thoray budget main Charade lo *** to heavy amount uski repair pay spent karo *** bat waha hee aa jati hay why dont you buy a clean car ... Achi Charade Samjho Suzuki Cultus ka mukabla kee hay... m saying so cause i have it n m enjoying its ride Alhamdulilah.... it easily touches 120 at CNG on 4th Gear and gives a good Petrol / CNG consumption in city.

I have bought a charade in 200K. I will be posting pictures soon. Still want to recondition it. Willing to allocate 40K to 50K budget on that. Details are following:

Daihatsu Charade 1986 (G-11)
Engine: 993cc (changed once with same specs.) very good condition
Interior: Original dashboard, frame, meter, doors
Exterior: Painted
Tyres: Good condition with alloys rims
Steering Wheel italian sports.
Petrol/CNG with good consumption.
Electronic Fuel System.

I am not sure that this ride is worth my money because I have found a list of problems in 2 n half days. I already plan to go to workshops with that

1. Steering wheel is very hard.

2. Front right tyre is one centimeter outside alignment
   (Wheel alignment persons said that the tyre needs to by aligned from lower body by pressing it inside and then rod will be used to fix both level. Is it denting work???)

3. Brake pedal vibrates when I accelerate the car on speed 50 or greater.

4. When I take sharp turns I feel some sound of tuc.. tuc .. just one or two (may be because of alignment or front right wheel).

5. Radiator fan is always ON. Heat gauge never goes up.

6. Should I go for full electrical wiring change? Is that feasible?

Let me know what to do in each case?

Dear expreienced and learned members

I would be grateful for any advice regarding my ride. I have driven it downt o Karachi from Multan. It was fun. Took 7 hours to Sukkur. Stayed the night as my headlights aren't very good, and took another 7 hours to Karachi the next day. All the way on CNG. No problems in the way whatsoever. However got to know my ride in better detail. Some of the problems in my charade:.

1. The steering, as a result of the whole chassis perhaps, vibrates at speeds of 82 kph,88 kph. At other speeds upper and lower its fine.

2. Top speed 105 kph on CNG.

3. Battery light coming on intermittently at sudden rev up and at high rpms > 4000, and resultant battery drain.

4. Close observation reveals that the left side is slightly lower - surely an accident. Resultantly, the front Bumper seems to slope ever so slightly as it runs left. The gap between the left fender's lower edge to the tyre is also less than that between the right tyre and the fender. (The left fender also has a dent near the left door mating)

5. Steering cuts right far more than left.

6. Tuc Tuc sound from left tyre suspension( Goda?? or tyre rod??)

7. The detents of the Indicator lever are not noticeable and the indicators dont turn off automatically.

8. Frontwipers and water sprinkler (?) non operative.

9. The rear Defogger, and wiper noooperative.

10. Dashboard panel does not light up.

12.Periodic low frequency whine /hiss from the left tyre - probably out of alignment brake disc?? noticeable at low speeds.

1. Rusted door corners etc.

Despite all this, I enjoyed the overall sweet engine performance and balanced drive throughout the way. I owe her good maintenance. Advice please.

if its lower from one side doenst necessarily mean accident..

shocks must have worn out

door corners and arches if rusted i know a good denter.. his work is expensive but well worth it..
