Their new instalment plans makes it even cheaper (500/month)
Earlier i used to pay: 450 tv cable, 2000 broadband charges + line rent = ~2700 (not sure about tax)

Now it will be:
400 for TV, 1400 for internet, 500 ONT installment + 0 line rent phone = 2300 (not sure if it will be taxed)
So still its a great deal considering its all of fibre optic and nayatel customer service is the best

I initially opted for home 35gb (3mbps) package but will upgrade to home 35gb plus (5mpbs) as soon as it is installed (only 300rupees difference)


Best thing about nayatel is that download speeds and upload speeds are same. So in my case, at night, ill be getting 5mbps download and 5mbps upload speed.
It is one of the major reason I am closing my ptcl connection. I have 4mpbs package so i should get at least 1mbps upload but all i got was: 3.3 download and 0.25 upload speed. I made like 10 complaints in last 2 months but after couple of days, they would close my complaint automatically lol. I would simply get a text on phone that your complaint has been closed

I even called their support and yelled at them that how the hell can my complaint get closed without issue being resolved and without my consent? the rep again made a complaint with a comment about previous complaint getting closed on its own and after 2 days i got same message lol

After getting tired of their support i contacted nayatel, their marketing manager came to my home and told me about this new instalment plan (earlier and on website it is still 1000/month but in actual they are offering 500/month plan too)

Do you know at every eid-ul-fitr nayatel gives its costumers an eidi? lol this time they gave 15mbps to all customers with unlimited downloads during eid holidays. Sad i applied late and did not get this eidi

edit: incoming phone calls give you 0.25rupees per minute on phone

If you look at the details, the speed upgrade and unlimited starts from 8pm and lasts till 8am. So basically, you get 12 hours of 2mbps limited downloads and 12 hours of 5mpbs unlimited downloads. I use torrents mostly so i can start torrents at night and close em in the morning. 5mbps is a lot for 12 hours, you can download ton of stuff in one night. and the speed you will get is 600+ KB/s (approx you can download 24gb in one night)

If your use is at day time (downloads) then its a no go for you since at day time it has cap on bandwidth

And in case you did not notice, saturdays and sundays are 24 hour 5mpbs with unlimited download. Btw afaik ptcl has fair usage policy so you cant download 150bg/month with ptcl without giving extra charges

Edit: The ONT comes with ups of its own so you tv and internet will work even if light's gone and unlike ptcl's smart tv, you can watch different channel on each tv (3 or 4 in total)

right now it makes sense....I guess I have never ever used internet which has specific timings .............i didnt understand all that......

Well In my house I have three internet connections wateen and two wingles...so i cross 150 gb easily quite easily.......

however I hate leaving my Macbook Air on for such a long time...which is why if I got a faster internet connection all that would be solved...what is quite irritating is that recently ptcl wingle has slowed down like crazy...........or maybe in my house............
I had never even heard of this nayatel before this..........

i use other tv channels and generally do not go for that tv internet bundle....................but otherwise sounds good if it actually works and is reliable as the rates seem to be not bad in comparison with wateen and ptcl

I am also going to follow some reviews of charji before deciding

yup u missed the eidi, b4 it used to be 10mb, this time it was 15mb for 4days full 24hr, i couldnt figure what to download even after finishing off downloading tons of tv series, it downloaded @ 1.7mb/s

Bro if i am not wrong, laptop go in sleep mode but torrents keep running. You can set the bittorent to turn off when downloads complete or even make a scheduler in torrent client.
Of course its a personal choice in the end

well on the mac there is a big issue....I still not got osx as I enjoy mountain lion
but the issue is after a few minutes of inactive use the screen goes dark and the torrent stops...

However, I mostly use the windows partition I have and on that turn the display off and keep the torrents running
If you know the macbook air you would know that it gives between 9 to 10 hours of battery life:)
however, when the computer battery ends obviously have to recharge me and if you know me I like to take care of my stuff and dont want to run through the battery or the charger too fast...

although the mac air battery gives a 1000 cycles and I am only on 80 at the moment

however, I have a big problem...since I recharged my post paid account on my 9.3 wingle I am quite disappointed barely get 0.95 mbs to 2mbs speed compared to 4 and 5 previously........

now feel should have not recharged it and instead should have just gone for charji straight away.......

going to wait a little bit for reviews or might then go for the plunge ....

other companies will take too long and I have realized their rates and data caps will be much more expensive per gig as compared to ptcl.........i am pretty sure about that...i might buy the 18000rs device with 4 months free internet package.....and throw my wingle under my car

I usually use my desktop to download things but if I'm remote and have to download it on my Air, I update preferences to never shutdown the display and then explicitly turn the brightness down to 0, this makes the display go off. You can try the same.

I also have a windows partition on it with win8.1 just to run some of my windows stuff but it's a battery killer, you should also avoid using Windows just for torrents

I've also read that it's better not to drain your battery completely every cycle as now the batteries remember the charge cycles so a drain means an increment towards their EOL, keep it between 40-80% when near a power outlet.

when i got it, i was paying 1000rs per month n they asked for a 30,000rs cheque as well as security instead of which i gave them post dated cheques

instead i gave them post dated cheques of monthly bill amounts which they cleared every month, that did wiped out a whole cheque book plus few extra but atleast there was a peace of mind that no one will every try clearing that whole amount cheque
