Just reached back from kalam tour ... road till mahudand is opened , i saw liana and corolla's there ...... and road this broken hotels toward laddu valley is accessible by jeeps , we cant attempt kundol lake due to bad weather conditions .... we stayed in Hotel diamond hills .... for three days ....

1.Bayonne Valley Medows.
second recommended place near manger.
2. Shingro Dhand Water fall.

That's great. I was almost disappointed. How far did you go into Bayun Valley. And what exactly is the level of trekking. I plan to do this on first day after reaching Kalam around 1200 hrs. I am also interested in contact number of any jeep driver.

Bro, I stayed at Shangrila hotel very close to van stop at Kalam.....I paid Rs.500 for two beds...It is reasonable and neat/clean hotel for middle class families..Mr. javed iqbal and his friend kohistani runs the hotel..Zia driver has his jeep that is placed/parked at his hotel.He is driving and taking fellows to mahodand lake & other scenic places since 15 years..a nice and reliable guy to be accompanied with family. He is a cousin of javed iqbal and he lives on mountain adjoining Shangrila hotel...i have lost their numbers,but you may get easy access to them at Shangrila hotel lying 8 to 10 steps from public van stop at KALAM.They are at shangrila hotel doing such job since 14 years.It is their livelihood...Utrore and gabral side is also scenic & beauty but it is less lush green than other side of ushu, mahodand lake.There are kundol lake and kharkhari lakes, most beautiful lakes.Kundol lake, you will see as curvy but actually it is not so and wonderful observation... but going to kundol lake with family is not recommended as route ahead is tricky and dangerous when two wheels of jeep would be on road and other two wheels towards deep cave. It is very narrow path and also you have to trek for at least 2 hrs where jeeps do not go....Zia was with us for 2 hrs, but agreed to be up to 2 am...6 hrs...Please note that all jeeps try to return back before sunset at kalam...fare for jeep is nearly for whole day as one can not return quickly...jeeps run very slowly because of having no metalled road...1500 rupees fare is enough for whole day on either side...They will charge you more for rush as school vacations time and peak summer season...This is very short period of few summer months that they earn from you...This is only their livelihood to which they have to sustain for rest of year time....be good bargainer... When you return from Kalam, please share photos and contact numbers of javed iqbal, zia or any other for guide of the nature admirers......
