this is the reply i got today. i was asking about estimated price.

"The final price has not been worked out because of the country's economic situation, duty structure and dollar rate. The standard and loaded model will fall between 7-8 hundred thousand."

so ,according to the official info, the price will be around 7 to 8 Lac. which pretty much means that Mehran still has no competition.

They should price below mehran in order to capture market more quickly.

That isn't possible.

PakSuzuki can offer the cheapest cars because they manufacture the biggest percentage of stuffs of their cars here locally, which others have to import, and hence pay custom tax.

And others cannot manufacture the same here unless they capture a large enough market to justify it or make a huge initial investment in the hope of chasing PakSuzuki out of market
(given that in out relative small market, there isnt room for two companies to co-exist with that sort of investment).

So getting a car prices similar to Suzuki Mehran won't be happening anytime soon, irrespective of our wishes.

It's almost end of August but no word from Chery.

I emailed them few days back but did not get a reply.

Anybody with updates????

I really hope Chery gives us options such as dual airbags, abs and ebd. Chinese version has all of those.

I contacted them few times via email in the last few weeks. No reply at all. They were suppose to launch in August.

This is the problem with new comers. Their efforts are, let's say, half-hearted.

Proton, Chery, , Kia, Mitsubishi/Hyundai (Not complete failure, they started to sell quite a few in Lahore at least) and Nisaan all failed to set firm foot in Pakistan.

I hope Pak Chery comes late than never.
