My point too, it baffles me! Updating company prices creates a huge negative affect in the used car market. For example, I went to Honda to inquire about the HR-V and they told me that bookings are open, delivery time is 1 year and price at time of delivery shall apply!

This is very true but actually effort is not futile. They are promoting the investors to sell at higher tags.

My car has misaligned exhaust pipes. See picture below.

The right side is more visible. I went to my area dealer Rana Motors and asked them to correct under warranty. Their technical expertise is very poor. I am amazed at them, they could not understand why these were misaligned and so could not fix the issue. Now I will go the a silencer walla and I am sure he will sort it out in a few minutes.

Is anyone having problem with tire grip under accelleration or braking? On my car the factory Cooper tires loose grip even in the 6th gear when accelerating briskly.

An update: I have replaced the Cooper tires with Continental Premium Contact 6. My issue was highlighted in the above post. The tires were installed late last night. Initial impression was that I felt the tire noise to be higher and the tire spin under acceleration issue resolved. I have just 20km on these tires. It takes about 50-100km for new tires to settle down.

More worrying was the visible uneven wear of the tires after just 15500km of use. Front tires were worn on their outer edge with feathering of the worn part of the tread. This indicates incorrect wheel alignment. Sure enough when the car was put on the alignment machine, there was excessive toe-in. I was quite surprised to find that the laser alignment machine I went to actually had Chery Tiggo in its selection of cars. I blame this on poor quality control at the factory or perhaps it turns out that my car is a lemon.

Incorrect alignment is common among vehicles from big 3 as well. I have read multiple such cases here on PakWheels . It's best to do 2 things as soon as you get the vehicle delivery.

1. Check tire pressure (40 psi or more is seen in some cases from factory)
2. Wheel alignment

How much did the Continental Premium Contact 6 tires cost you? I've been looking for them and the dealers are charging anywhere from 55K to 120K each. The variance on these is insane. And what did you get for the cooper tires? I'm thinking of doing the same for it.

53k each for the Continentals and 15k for the 4 used Coopers. Mine were pretty bad. Multiple punctures, a bad bead and two front ones were worn considerably compared to the rear ones. I actually felt bad asking money for the Coopers.

This post is to do with the rain sensing wipers on this car. As already mentioned we also own a Proton X70 which also has rain sensing wipers. I can and have use as a comparison. Back in 2008 I owned a BMW 745Li (now sold) which also had same type of wipers so I can also use that car as a comparison. Sadly the auto or rain sensing technology on this car is far from ideal. In fact one is better off thinking that we don't have rain sensing feature and use them as conventional wipers. The following two videos will demonstrate my point. These wipers sometimes don't work and if they start working, they don't stop even after the rain has stopped and the screen is clear.

This guy below is Filipino who owns this Chery. He is speaking in a mix of English and Filipino but he has put in sub-titles in English. Here we can see that the rain sensitivity feature is pretty useless and has no impact on the operation of the wipers function.

By comparison the Proton and the BMW wipers work like a charm. The sensitivity feature on the Proton works perfectly and its performance cannot be faulted. My old BMW, in addition being rain sensing they were also speed sensing. Meaning the the faster the car went the faster the wipers worked and when the car stopped (traffic light etc.) they stopped.

While some features don't work so well on this car there are others that work perfectly each and every time. Rear Cross Traffic Alert is one of them as can be seen in the video below:

On the Tiggo 8 Pro there is a warning appearing on the dash as shown below:

This appears if one follows a car closely for a period of time. (time and distance is not mentioned anywhere). I have tried to replicate this warning to check its repeatability under a number of conditions but can't get it to. I have learned that once this message appears for a particular car in front, it will not appear again even if I keep the same distance behind it for the remainder of the journey. I have to overtake the vehicle so that the system can "reset" and then come up behind another vehicle and drive behind it with the same gap and speed. The next time the warning may or may not appear depending on its mood.

Its like the software in the cheap Chinese head units one gets in the local market. Having said that our Haval and Proton are pretty good in the software dept.

I have a query. Yesterday i went to Chery Central, Islamabad for the first oil change. They have used SINOPEC 20W-50 (04 Liters) and 5W-30 (0.5 Liters). I asked the technician that why is he using the two different grades and that too appears to be much thicker for the new car to which he replied that we do the same with all the cars.

Did anybody else notice the same and also which grade is recommended by the company?

sir please refer to user manual of car. In maintenance section oil change interval and oil grade is always mentioned.

workshop helpers does not have clue they do only as their supervisors tell them.

I will check this out next time I go there. I have had 2 changes done so far. both times I was in the visitor area and did not actually see what oil went in. So far whatever little I have seen at Chery Central service dept, I was not impressed. Their mechanics are no better than the fellows working on the side of the road under a tree. Also they have no system of parts ordering, no system of computerized work order/work flow. Its all manually done.

I just completed a trip to Bahawalpur and back (total of approx. 1200km). Ride was very nice and comfortable. I had a chance to use the lumber support to relive some back stiffness which worked fine. On a traffic free stretch of road I was able to take the vehicle to 190 and back down to 120 right away. Other than some wind noise at 190 from my door, car was very stable. Wife slept through the 15 or so seconds of going from 120 to 190 and back. New tires had vibration past 130km/h so need to have them rebalanced from a reputable shop.

In the 9 million range for a used Tiggo 8 Pro (less than 10k kms), do you think this car is worth purchasing? Or should one avoid the company entirely?
