Damn, that's disappointing to hear. With that 'limited delivery' message posted above I thought they may already have CKD units ready for delivery. I am seriously considering this car mainly because I booked a Proton X70 on Feb 2, 2021 with expected delivery 4th quarter 2021. As things stand we will be lucky to get it in 2023 by which time all CSUVs will probably cost 7 million. We need an alternative now.

Changan X7 was another disappointment. Those desi jugaarh 7 seats, ugly white interior, Quaid e azam era Android Kit Kat system, overall just doesn't come across as a refined product. Tiggo 8 on the other hand has a seriously impressive exterior/interior and is probably the only contender similar or better than X70. Yes but Oshan X7 also seemed similarly impressive before launch because the Chinese model was a very solid vehicle at a great price, but the Pakistani version turned out to be a different story altogether. It wouldn't be too surprising if Tiggo 8 gets similarly gimped whenever its PKDM version is launched.

Given that they are displaying CBU units for marketing, I think that they will retain all of the same features. Their other major RHD market, South Africa, has this vehicle with full bells and whistles. With Oshan X7, Changan never displayed a CBU unit for precisely this reason, but in the case of Alsvin they did display CBUs as they knew the specs would remain the same. So I'm hopeful that the CKD won't be Atlased or Changaned by Ghandara.

World automobiles is the same Nissan Gandhara dealer opposite to Awami Markaz karachi

Who ones used to resell Japanese Used cars and was the official dealership for Nissan cars in Karachi.

I'm not sure if it's owned by Gandhara too. CHERRY seems like another Nissan, Datsun fraud from Gandhara. They have been good for nothing even Isuzu isn't good.

Altho they claim Gandhara has split up, UD Nissan Deisel and Isuzu being handled by different groups.

ISUZU is doing slightly better. The other group is only about stock market fake newss.

Selling a few units and wrapping up is old style of this group.

They have a old Nissan assembly maybe they will show case that for Cherry aswell, the same plant was lended to Chevrolets local assembly aswell.

yes there's two Ghandara company listed on PSX, one is Ghandara Isuzu (GIL) and other is Ghandara Nissan (GHNL) i guess both got divide as its still belong to same family of Kulli Khan Khattak (Bibojee Group). Chery motor is no where showing under the website of Ghandara Nissan or even on Ghandara Isuzu but it got own seperate website chery.pk

I hope they wont repeat the same mistake as they did with the Nissan cars and Chevrolets.

No brand wants to work with them, the last brand was JAC trucks. I'm not exactly sure where does it stands now.

But JAC has vanished. Isuzu has goverment contracts so they are doing good in Trucks department.

Gandhara Nisaan doesn't has any brands on its back. Renault was a blunder, Nissan cars was a scam, Datsun was a stock market scam, Now Cherry.

They could have worked with Nissan, stabilize the brand and then think of anything else.

One of the Gandhara is also assembling DFSK trucks in Pakistan aswell.

Nissans last line up with Nissan Sunny, Nissan TIDA, Nissan X trail and Nissan Cefiro was almost very similar to what Nishat Hyundai is offering. Nishat has Shehzore / Porter instead of Nissa Tida

Pakistan debut next for 2022 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, CKD in the works

Shortly after making its debut in South Africa, the 2022 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro will be heading to Pakistan next, as seen on a recent social media posting.

The Wuhu-based company fired at Changan after the latter introduced the Changan Oshan X7 in Pakistan, with the caption saying “That was a good move but not extraordinary”.

Chery’s Pakistani arm has yet to launch the Tiggo 8 Pro there, but they did tease the large SUV, as well as the smaller Tiggo 4 Pro during an event back in December 2021. During said event, Chery’s Pakistani partner Ghandhara Industries Limited mentioned that local assembly (CKD) model will launch within fiscal year 2021-2022.

For the Pakistani market, powertrain details should mirror the model that’s now on sale in South Africa. A turbocharged 1.6-litre direct-injection 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 197 PS and 290 Nm should be offered, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Being Chery’s flagship SUV, the Tiggo 8 Pro for Pakistan should be filled to the brim with active and passive safety equipment. Six airbags and a full ADAS suite can be expected for the Pakistani-spec Tiggo 8 Pro.

In terms of pricing, some Pakistani news outlets have speculated that the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro could be priced in the PKR 6 million (~RM 140k) region, higher than the Proton X70 (PKR 4.69 mil, ~RM 109k to PKR 4.99 mil, ~RM 116k).

my neighbor who has now shifted to America, Used to work in GNL, ( got brand new Nissan Sunny and Cefiro)

told us that Nissan is making a fortune out of Nissan Trucks (when in contract with ARMY) they were never interested in making / assembling cars.
