I replaced my BRV with the Tiggo 8. At the time when I took delivery of the Tiggo 8, it was like leaving the dark ages and entering the 21st century. But now after what has happened with Chery/Ghandhara I am missing my trusty old BRV.
Sadly, due to no dealer support for the Chery brand, the prices are rock bottom. Whenever I have searched Pakwheels for any vehicle I have noticed that generally Islamabad registered vehicles have a decent demand by the owners. Don't know what is the actual price they get at the time of sale. That goes for any make of vehicle not specifically Chery. We have to keep in mind that Tiggo 8 never caught on by the market from the start. Was it Ghandhara that put people off it or was it the thirst for fuel or was it the not so comfortable ride. Bottom line is that it was never a hot seller. Not like the other Chines SUVs.
So selling the Chery will mean quite a loss. Add that to the fact that I am not so sure if there is any 3S dealer still left operational in Karachi. There used to one in Pak Towers, Clifton but that one has closed its doors. Your concern for parts is a very valid one and, in my humble opinion a deal breaker. As a Tiggo 8 owner in Karachi one is in a pretty bad situation made worse as it is hard to sell and hard to maintain. My car is ready for it 60,000 km service which requires a transmission oil change and charcoal canister change along with normal jobs. Would you believe that Chery transmission oil is not available in any corner of Pakistan - neither the original or the acceptable alternate. The charcoal canister I got online from China. A few months ago the coolant expansion bottle cap failed which I got from Saudi Arabia via my daughter was traveling from Saudi to Pakistan. So be warned that it is very difficult to maintain this vehicle without dealer support.
Now, all eyes are on Master to see if they decide to support the Tiggo 8 and 4 or not. If you can bear the loss in price, Sell it.
