Brother, I have no personal hatred for GM. Frankly, I loved the Aveo hatchback when I saw it in Dubai. But what I am saying is the truth. Yes, it is a pity that people pay almost a million for an XLi and feel happy about it, but that is the truth my friend. I know JOY is also a good car, my previous opinion about it has changed. It is indeed a good car, but people still prefer 1989 Swift (Cultus) over it. Even today I see more chevy 800cc than the 1000cc.

Prices are charged as per market conditions and products are launched according to customer's liking. One should MAKE the people buy ones product not EXPECT.

Actually, what i'm seeing is that Nightsurfer/doc/wik_a have similar opinions..

U ppl are arguing for nothing!...

The bottomline is as simple as this:

The car is a very decent package from the company, but unfortunately it will not sell, because 80 % of US (the consumers/buying power) are NUTS!!...

Consumers prefer shitty, stripped down econoboxes lyk Xli and Mehran, and It will always be VERY TOUGH for a NEW and LOADED ENTRANT to penetrate the market!!..

The lancer however has had some luck, but that too after its price was reduced around 2 LAKHs!!

Guys to me the most important thing in an automobile is SAFETY, something which is totally extinct in ANY pakistan assembled car, as they don't give a **** about the customers as the customers also keep acting like ****** and keep buying these tin cans........
So for me the new chevrolet is one of the very few options of somewhat safer cars in our country........

i dont think aveo has a 1300cc engine. in india it comes in 1400cc and 1600cc. well all i know is that 1300cc liana and city are both underpowered. my brother owns a city and it is really sluggish. liana i have driven as well and even though its a nice car, the suzuki steering wheel keeps reminding me that its only that... a suzuki. the interior does not have a rich feel to it. with the city, fabric starts coming off within weeks and the look is very plasticy.

i've visited showroom at defence main korangi road its damn gud car nicely design they r taking 25% booking amount of car value with delivey time of 3 months which is a long time well but if v c around otherz r taking much higher time .................. any way its worth buying I LUV dis car

We all know how a Mehran and XLI feel, they are uncomfortable boxes one for 4 Lacs, the other for 9 Lacs, still no one will buy a loaded QQ for 4.5 Lacs and a Loaded Lancer/Sunny for 9 Lacs, for Chevrolet they will have to price it at 7 Lacs, yes im not kidding, only 7 Lacs not even 8 Lacs, no problem if make it 1300cc with handle windows etc. that will be the only way to beat Toyota/Honda/Suzuki !

while optra is 1.6L,,,,,DOHC,,,4CYL,,,,16 VALVE,,,,,,107 HP,,,,,,,,,150 Nm torque @4000 rpm,,,,,,,,has four disc brakes,,,,,,,,driver airbag ,,,,,,,,,and cost is 1020000

so i think by adding only a lakh u get a much much improved car,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,which is optra

but then again i wonder why ppl dont buy optra

Either this or the 1.0L hatchback in Santro's price would have done wonders.

I thought 1.0L Joy was never a good idea. They should have kept the joy to 0.8L ( 500,000 Rs. max ) and the Aveo to 1.0L (Hatch 650,000 Rs. max ). Optra 1.3 or Aveo Sedan 1.3 would have been a good idea. ( Price of Aveo sedan base model should be 800,000 Max. minus abs, Cd changer, steering wheel audio controls,keyless entry. etc)

well only honda knows how to make soch rev happy engines (6) but 3000rpm is no big deal and when ur gettin 128Nm at 3000, that betters the beloeved 2c 2.0D corolla

that said, nashit have driven aveo and said it doesnt feel powerfull.
