the koreans are smart, they got the germans to hand them over mercedes benz CDI diesels to install in Ssangyong SUVs and Vans - those engines are bomb proof - sadly in Pakistan those are shot down and swapped for 1KZ and 1KD because they are too busy for the average local diesel mechanic ustaad. While infact it is very easy to diagnose and repair them.

In their full glory the MB CDI engines pull like freight trains with 2 locos

Maybe to rebel is it must be cheap and can move.....no need to last more than 3 years cos dont think they can fight for that long to win or lost the war

Pic published today of Libyan rebels liberation Tripoli, capital of Libya. The vehicle is a military version of the Beijing Auto Works (BAW) BJ212. It is likely an ex-Libyan army vehicle taken by the rebels. In good hands… This military version is called T75-105. T75 is an army number, 105 stands for the size of the gun, 105mm indeed.

A set of Chinese Zhongxing pick up trucks used by the rebels to transport men and firepower over Libyan roads were seen yesterday. The vehicles are non-army and were delivered by Zhongxing to Libya just before the fighting started.

Zhongxing, aka ZX Auto, makes cheap, simple and reliable pick up trucks that are mostly sold in rural China and are exported to some ten countries, mainly in Africa. The vehicles on the pics appear to be Grand Tigers and Admirals. Nice names indeed. The rebels loaded the cars with heavy machine guns and armed soldiers. It seems the Zhongxings took it all. The Chinese army however, does not use any products from Zhongxing.

We already knew Libyan rebels were using China-made BAW 212′s and Zhongxing pick up trucks. Today comes a new one: a Greatwall Wingle 3 pick up truck cruising trough the desert (it is the vehicle in the back ground, up front a mighty multiple rocket launcher).

Another Wingle at desert camp. The Greatwalls aren’t military-spec vehicles but were meant for the civilian Libyan market and imported from China just before the shooting started.

Standard Wingle 3. It does look better with guns all over indeed.
