road on the right goes towards Swat (as i heard) and SAMBO (Korean Tunnel company) makeing another tunnel from this road to swat. and straight road goes to Gilgit....

in last pic a very good looking N.C.P. Prado is taking passengers to their destination its running as taxi there....

Very beautiful and Picturesque Pakistan and a mighty heart to tolerate this weather, we visited north of Pakistan in 1st week of January starting from Karachi>Lahore and then proceeding to Lower Topa, Murree, Muzaffarabad, Garhi Habib Ullah , Balakot , Kiwai and Shogran , could not go further due to snow and by seeing your pictures i repent on not being able to go Chitral and beyond.

hotels are available in main city of chitral from 500 to 1000Rs. good and decent hotel and in season it goes up to max of 1500. mostly restaurants in chitral serve meat bcoz its cheaper there. and whenever you go there don't forget to buy dry fruit its available in good cheaper rate,....

I loved this thread very much, since it brought back memories of a trip to Chitral many many years ago.

The only thing I did NOT like was the use of a "bomb" for fishing. It is a highly damaging practice that kills off local fish stocks over a period of time, and should NOT be done at all.

Great thread and a very useful service you are starting. Best of luck for your business success. In August 2002, I along with four other friends, was stranded in landslide and rain in Ziarart. We were stuck at the highest point at Lowari pass as the night fell and walked down in the dark. Finally found refuge at the dhaba (pix of which you have posted above) around 3.00am. It was jampacked and everyone was sleeping in dirty quilts. We barely managed to find a little place on a bench and on the mud floor. Our hosts found us around 8.00am and then we had to walk down landslides along the river for few hours to catch a jeep. It was quite and adventure.
