Saidhi apparently went past Mian Rafiq when he was changing a tire, but he made quick work of it and was on the Nissan's tail coming into the finish. He was complaining to Saidhi about not giving him way but the gap between the cars seems pretty huge for Qasim to have heard the horn. I don't understand how Mian Rafiq consistently qualifies so far ahead of Mehrab Khan and other Jimnys everytime. Nothing franken about the Nissan I would think....

You need to see the battle scars on Saidhi, that is definitely a "FrankenNissan"... btw i have a couple of top 10 contenders for the clicks as well... will put them up and let you be the judge

Speed is not the problem here. The front suspension setup is the culprit. The shocks simply did not/ could not control the full spring rebound.

We have seen similar behaviour from FDO1 and Shabab's safari's in the past. It happens when you put very heavy duty springs and in-adequate shocks just cannot control their rebound!

Also lack of experience, there was a huge crowd gathered there, meaning it was an interesting spot for action viewing and action photography. Its always better to lift off at such places, because one tends to keep an eye on crowd and miss the bumps on the tracks etc. Also with so many people around you can never discount some crowd foolishness, or the chance of losing control and going into the crowd.

The safari jump below is hardly at 40-45kmph!

The transmission oil got fried....shocks leaked...broken bushes etc...we stopeed for more than 50 min nursed the ride back to finish

With respect to the JJ Jump, after both the onboard and outboard vids, I cannot help think that the knuckle was damaged / cracked from before and the pressure of the hydraulic bump stop on the landing proved to be the final straw. There is nothing extraordinary in the approach speed or landing impact that would lead an 80 series tube to crack like that. Suspension behavior we can debate to death, but there are videos of other cars in this spot with harder landings, albeit none as dramatic. In the onboard video, it may be the camera mounting angle but the car seems lower on the right side when approaching the jump. In any case, to me it seems a case of going, going and gone rather than a clean karate chop.

@charged, u need to tie a black goat to the front of the Tundra!! i swear :).... after seeing you arrive hot on Khorro's heels at the stage break, i was hoping for an underdog result, wasn't to be.... next year Inshallah.
