City 2005 Engine Overhaule

well my colleague just changed the clutch plate pressure plate and bearing of his city 05
the parts alone from open market cost him 10k

dont know how u guys are claiming 5k :S probably cheap Chinese stuff could cost that much

I think clutch plate and pressure plate will cost near about 8000 Rs from Plaza Karachi.

Sir my friend changed his cars clutch and pressure plate recently and we did a lil survey before buying! clutch&pressure plates are widely available in market for 5.5k to 6.5K, i think someone looted your friend! You can also check prices in honda city fan club!

for clutches in Karachi, there are 2 shops in Plaza that exclusively sell clutch and pressure plates. And their prices are always very reasonable. A LR Defender Clutch plate from Sigma motors was Rs 13,000/- while at the little plaza shop it was Rs 6000/- and Rs 4500/- one OEM and one aftermarket.

anyways I dont think its a clutch issue, because the original poster does not reply with a result of slipping clutch or just engine bogging.

mere mechanic nay yeh keh kar jaan churaa li k new piston theek nahi thay is liay pick theek nahi hay, aik mechanic ne kaha k head dobaara new ho ga... aik ne kahaa k itni acchi to pick hay aur aapko kia chahiay... LoLzzzz

You can start with checking your IACV. Check if its the one for Auto or Manual. If you can't check that, you can ask a friend with a similar car to let you try installing his IACV for 15 minutes and see if you feel a difference.

If you do, just change it. It'll cost 2200 rupees from Bilal Ganj, and about 8000 from Honda dealers. Just make sure its from a MT this time.

If you don't feel any difference, then it is the clutch as you said " magar jab drive karta hoon to car aahista aahista race pakarti hay" - try finding a reliable place to get it from. In Lahore, Honda House is the best place to get genuine Honda parts at very reasonable price.

so your engine is bogging..

you have timing problems or a very badly assembled engine, I would check it with live data - of what crank sensor/cam sensor readings are you getting. and how much ignition advance is applied. It just maybe something very simple.

Is the engine itself heating up, or unusually tight?

our mechanics and parts available do not add up to rebuild efi Honda engines atleast.

they can only rebuild world war 2 engines like 2E or 2C

wrong. personal experience shows they cant even get that right!

HPR had freshly rebuilt the D16 on my old Civic when I bought it off of them and MY GOD would that thing roar and run like a champ!

That's the only experience I had with a rebuilt engine and I can't complain.

when i changed IACV i feel no difference with previous position... now i have my old genuine IACV in my spare parts box... it was same position that's why i didn't changed it again to older genuine IACV.

now there is only 1 option left CLUTCH PLATE change...

what do u say friends...?

you dont have a clutch problem at all, it'll be a waste of money, a failing clutch is

slipping
chatter
chatter and slipping

If the clutch is weak the engine has enough torque to slip it - if your engine does not have an ounce of torque to apply - then you fix the engine.

properly rebuilt engines are supposed to perform like new as you mention.
