D17a2 swapped car - HELP AND INFO NEEDED PLEASE
Got a D17a2 swapped 2000 vti about a week ago and although not alot of people love this combination , i Love it.
Please anyone that has experience or knowledge is more than welcome to help and contribute.
I need some info eg
1-what clutch do i buy (eagle eye wala ? or what) since i dont know if they have a d17 clutch available here
2-where can i get new shifter bushes for it and what model would i buy them for since its got a d17 in it and not the stock engine and trans since d17 shifter bushes wont be available
3-Where can i get the best and not too expensive coilovers for it (want more grip)
4-any chance i can get poly bushes for it in Pakistan?
5-any chance anyone knows where ill find a used kabli original mugen white odometer ?

PLEASE help me with any and all of these questions if you can - take 5 mins of your time to help a very distressed 20 yr old.

I have this car for over a decade & i hace learned some issues are not changed by engine change
First overheat problem we got rid of it's orignal engine in 2012 there was this overheat problem
Which was'nt gone with engine is yes it was reduced but not gone but later we serviced radiator & problem decrease but did'nt ended therebwe were in regret that new engine needs to returned etc it was overheating less then previous engine i.e it use to overheat sometimes on long routes not everytime but occassionaly
But then a pipe at back of engine was found to be leaking after replacing that pipe problem was gone as if it never existed
Also with the case car going fail while driving or rpm drop etc thats simply due to carbuerator needs to be changed if that changed problem is gone
But still one thing I havent done which i would like to how i convert my 97 model to 99-00 model how much is the cost
& We use 20w 50 engine oil so a lighter one is better or thats just good enough?
& Another question is that i have some silencer issues & there is no catayltic convertic in my car as we have this car since i was a kid & when i grew up with the potential it had i got a alot of work done oh & also the suspension expires very quick of this car you can get good condition from Bilal gunj atleast thats what we do

Thank you so so much bro , I'm sorry I forgot to mention I'm from islamabad and checked a bit in pindi for these parts but didn't know where to look since I've not owned a car before this.
So if you have any idea about islamabad pindi availability.
As far as I know catalytic converters can be found used and new - used will be a lot cheaper.
Also go on d series website there you'll be able to find out exactly which oil is best for your engine that you're using if it's a D17a2 engine then I recommend 5w-30 since what's most suitable is 5w-20 but since both of us would have engines that are a bit driven since they're old and cuz of their age I was advised by oil guy and a mechanic friend to switch to slightly thicker 5w-30.

You'll need head lights tail lights front fenders and rear diggi of 2000. Not sure if you'll need something else too but that's what I can think of.
And yes sadly the suspension is very delicate. Hopefully hard bushes and coilovers last a bit longer and kharak na aye.

Front and rear bumpers with mudflaps too. Yes even the mudflaps for the facelift are a little different.

ONE CORRECTION of what I wrote above its not carbeurator to be replaced for electrical issues or RPM failing it,s the distributor placed at left side of engine.

i use to put 10w-30 but for being old engine oil store person & every other person i bump recommends us thick oil. with thick oil i have noticed poor fuel consumption.
& no problem bro dont have any idea about rwp spare parts market.

i guess front & back both fenders would be needed to be replaced with the paint for all those parts will probably cost me 50k + doest seems like a good idea

I've been reading up a lot about oil and everyone says that if an engine is recommended for 5w-20 then just move to 5w-30 if it's a high milage engine but apparently moving up in viscosity or thickness of the oil will affect the oil pressure and increase it. That sometimes isn't the best for an old engine as weak seals and stuff will get further stressed.
So I'm gonna stick with 5w-30. And yes the bad fuel economy could be due to a different oil.
Bro the distributor, what problem did you have that it fixed since my car jolts and rocks on gear changes and engagement and disengagement of the clutch and I get rpm drop or high rpm if I take it out of gear.
Not sure why this is happening.

I dont know but 5w-30 is not the recommended for old engine
As for distributor mine is auto trany car use to fail of Rpm to 0 while driving it apparently felt as if its fuel pump problem or something like that but later the distributor was opened & it was found oily & greasy so we got it serviced & problem was gone this happened 2 years ago but this has happened many times in my car history we once serviced the distributor & around 5-6 years ago we replaced it with a kabli that kabli is still running good after the service i told
& Beware dont get it serviced from any jaahil mechanic only the one who have experience & understands how to get it serviced will be able to service it & get your distributor serviced or replaced if there is rpm drop issue & car just stops in middle of nowhere & engine stops or rpm falls or acts weird otherwise you may be having a about to be expired cluth plate issue for your car.

Broooooooo thank you so much for this info - my cars rpm is really wonky - it's a manual but between clutch engagements it messes around. I'm sure the clutch is bad and am replacing it soon. But thanks so much for this distributor info I'm sure servicing it will help a lot.
I'm gonna have to find a decent mechanic - got my throttle serviced but this one didn't do a good job.

Suggestion Required:

I own a civic 1999 vti oriel. car's clutch and pressure plates are about to die. Few of friends in my circle suggested me to swap the manual tranny with the auto of the same model. Just gear box.

Suggestions of experienced members is required. Is it worthy to swap the auto or stay with manual and just change clutch and pressure plates.

Also please do tell if swapping auto is good enough then from where in Lahore should I go for swapping.

For swapping to auto trans you need the following
a. gear box
b. auto variant ecu
c. pedals
d. radiator
e. auto shift lever
f. auto cluster, etc.

If you can find all the auto trans parts from a PKDM civic, then it will be relatively an easy swap. However if you go for JDM parts, then it may be hard to successfully swap the auto gear, until and unless you already have a JDM setup (engine + related parts) in your car.
This model mostly came with a CVT gear from japan, conventional auto gear may be difficult to find. However, JDM auto gear from a 92-95 civic can also be matted with it.
You also need to modify engine bay wiring to hook up the shift solenoids etc.
I am also planning to switch to auto setup, so far I have done the following:
a. auto cluster - installed
b. auto cabin wiring - installed
c. auto radiator - installed
d. auto geat shif lever - purchased
e. auto gear - to be purchased
f. auto ecu - to be purchased
g. pedals - to be purchased
I already have JDM D15 engine in my car.

Please wait for the experts opinion on this matter as going from auto to manual is much easier than other way round.

I used to buy interior/body parts from pindi and engine parts from peshawar.
If budget is not an issue for you, then it is highly recommended to swap complete engine with an auto gear, wiring, ecu and all other necessary parts.
People normally buy complete half-cut and transform their cars with all the bits and pieces from the donor. They also swap cabin/body wiring harness along with new dash and climate control system.

Budget is an issue. I think If one has to swap complete engine with auto gear when why not purchase the car with auto gear. Cuz changing complete engine with auto gear, wiring, ecu and other parts will cost around 100,000. So why now add these 100,000 and buy the car with company fitted auto.
