Need this Steering wheel for Civic 97 and Price

I have a 1996 Honda Civic that has a D16w7 mated with stock manual transmission and some random Auto Wiring ECU attached to it. It's been like that for 5 year. (My father got it swapped through a shitty mechanic) and honestly the experience was bad as I never got it running on perfectly. There was always one problem or the other. Fuel consumption was bad. Like 6km/l with no ecu codes or anything.

But Alhamdullilah the engine is now dead. Lol. And I need to get it replaced. I need an engine that provides me with the best fuel mileage. And need to spend the least amount of money. What are my options if I am lucky enough to have any? Lol someone please guide me as I am a student who's new to this and very tight on budget

Recommendation for engines please. And what should I make sure is installed correctly

All I need is a good average for the least amount of money I'll have to spend on this car. While being as reliable as possible. The stock engine for this car is really expensive to buy and late maintain. Do I have other options that would work good?

It is difficult to fine tune jdm engines, Which are available in market, problem is this, most JDM engine need their original Ecu , And O2 sensor, both of these thing are ignored by our mechanics, And result bad fuel economy, Try to find Honda citys d13 engine, if you don't mind, less power!

Was it a EXI or a VTI?
If it was a VTI then the best setup you can install is a D16y8 Single Vtec with the current wiring and new Ecu for Single Vtec
OR
D15B Dual V-TEC engine with 02 sensor and Ecu (P2J 008 for manual transmission)

VTI original wiring works you would only need to connect two wires. One for oxygen sensor and rhe other for the second Vtec solenoid

It will give you around 12km/liter in city if all other things Eg tire size, pressure etc are stock

I was about to buy new box pack Depo Headlamps for 10,500 but then found these very clean Honda Stanley Genuine Headlamps from Junkyard (Sultan ka khoo in Rawalpindi) for 7000

Sir it has D16w7 installed in it currently.
These older engine's have gotten really expensive to buy. And finding a good engine that old is a tough job too. I was thinking of a D17a. As per my research it bolts on perfectly. In not sure about the wiring. I'm guessing I'll have to hack some of it. Is a D17A a good swap?

I have a 1997 Honda Civic VTI Automatic transmission with D15 B Dual V-TEC engine. My car was originally a VTI Automatic with stock single Vtec engine and Ecu.

I was in a similar situation and I have successfully installed a p2j Ecu for Automatic transmission

If your car was a VTI originally (auto antenna on left rear fender instead of front right pillar,5 Enkei Alloy rims,Vtec engine) your stock wiring will work great you just need to install two wires to the Ecu for the following things:
1: Second Vtec solenoid
D15b Dual Vtec has two solenoids and since your car has only one wire you need to install the wire from solenoid grip to correct ECU pinout.

2: Oxygen Sensor (o2 sensor)
You would need to get a hole made in your mainfold and install a single wire 02 sensor (costs 1000-1500 rupees) and a wire from sensor grip to correct Ecu pinout.

I got the above things done last year and the prices were
1: Ecu. I dont exactly remember but I guess 3000 after exchanging my one
2: O2 sensor for 1000 rupees each (I had to buy 2 because the one I bouht earlier was faulty
3: electrician should charge 1000-1500 max

I have seen it in many 6th generation Honda Civics.but I do not have any experience.
It is always better to get a complete setup including wiring and correct Ecu to get the optimum performance and economy.

I need suggestions on what to cover the spare wheel area with to make it easier to access. Car in question is a 6th generation and i am annoyed by the thin piece of cardboard breaking. If anyone knows any solution please let me know.

hi there. what about the working of your fuel guage i guess mine is having a problem. i have gas in my tank but still it goes down really fast.

Hey not sure what you mean by that but mine doesn’t work the best either.
Pretty sure it needs to be changed or serviced after 20 years of service.
With me it kinda sticks
So it’ll stay in one place even tho I’m driving around And consuming fuel and then when I leave the car parked it’ll Go down to the level that the fuel has dropped to.
Also I changed the reserve light bulb in the cluster in hopes that it’ll work as it didn’t before and now I’ve got a reserve light that’s always on hahaha So that probably needs fixing too

Well it looks good. It has a great build quality (Atleast the JDM one).
You could throw a K20 or K24 in there with relative ease. I mean it's a great car.
But getting one in good condition is difficult. And you'll need to spend a lot on regular maintenance. For example I was at Bilal Ganj today. A set of Mud shields and Mud flaps cost me 7000. A pair of good quality head lights could cause you atleast 10,000. So repair and maintenance is a huge headache as something is always breaking. The climate controls rarely work in these cars. The antenna keeps breaking.

So if you have money to spend; to get it's shit replaced, I don't think you'll find a better car than this. But if you're on a budget go for the reborn. You'll face less issues. With that said, if you choose to modify this particular model, you'll find no greater satisfaction as the driving experience of this machine is unparalleled.

Did you get the gauge checked? It's most probably the gauge or the gauge cluster.
