Get a good chassis to begin with. A clean car should cost you around 580k to 650k

You should be able to get a good car in that budget. Maybe a few mechanical things that might need attention.

Long term plans Going for a daily driven H23a vtec or maybe F20b not so sure yet, though more inclined towards the H23. With complete paint job and all the major/minor things, going for a detailed project.

There's a couple of 2000 civics for sale. One is blue running the f20b. I think the seller is asking 725k for it.

My preference would be the f20b...overall its a better engine than the H. But its a pain to find an original manual f20b (trust me a friend ans i have been looking for a clean one for the longest time)

Yeah I saw that one, but its in Karachi and the cars in Karachi are are relatively cheaper compared to Isb/LHR market. Being rare F20b will be way more expensive compared to H23a vtec no?? Btw which car are you planning to swap in the F20b?

Well that is a whole lot another story I've read an excellent debate between immad and univ on a thread here and from what I've read the H23a vtec has a better torque but the F20b redlines better or at-least that's what I understood.

Plan is to swap the f20b into a 96 ek

A friend and i both had the same plan. My car was for sale. Deal is finalized. Hopefully this weekend will be parting with it.

For the suspension we'd be looking at coilovers. But priority is to find a healthy motor first.

I am using RBI bushes in the my 97 ek and these are really good, it's been almost one and a half year and so for the suspension is going strong and still feels brand new.

How come? What factors made you choose F20b over the H23? Sorry for being a little pushy but I myself want to make an informed decision.

Any specific brand in mind? Btw I was looking at strut bars and cross bars yesterday and there are so many options for the ek, but I was very interested in fender bars and they do seem to be a good investment, as I have a strut and a cross bar in my khyber the handling is very very nice so it seems like the fender bars will have a noticeable effect on the handling and stability of the car.

Bro tein coilovers are what we're looking at for the moment. Stability bars off the type r are what we will get for better stability. Perhaps a bit of additional reinforcement may also be needed which would be fabricated.

As far as the engine. We are in favor of the f20b because of the better internals and block. As stock it can withstand a bit more punishment when pushed hard. Yes it is less torque as compared to the h23, but reliability factor overshadows that.
