I think that called fuel tank vent, is it easily possible to find or any universal vent works.

It's an unidirectional vapor recirculation valve, looks like a filter.
Yes you can find it.

Clean your throttle body IAC sensor, check distributor on idle it should not fluctuate on idle if it does then adjust it where rpm are stable, also look for spark plugs and spark plugs leads, I have got problem with leads car idle always jump before changing spark plugs leads after changing it's become smooth. Good luck

Hi guys! I own a 1997 civic ex and had backfire plus overheating issues for past month l. Got everything checked except timing belt as it was replaced just about 40k kms ago. Now yesterday I was driving and car started overheating after 12km just switched off wont run. Towed and got checked it has a broken timing belt.
Mechanic tells me to swap the engine now as it is messed up due to overeat and pistons valves thingy. He is suggesting a d17 vtec with everything except radiator and gear only if i want to keep the car. If I want to sell he suggests to get a kabli assembly and sell later.
Please please give ur expert opinions guys what is the best option for me. Is engine swap worth it? Can i just replace assembly and it will be okay?

How bad the engine is? If rebuild is possible go for it.
If not then d17a would be better option. Do get it with complete wiring and ecu.
Still prefer rebuild first.

Actually I don't know enough about this stuff... My mechanic told me the engine wont work if rebuilt... He told me there is gunk on pistons etc. I dont know how to judge by seeing the engine although he showed me valves and all... Shall I rely on my mechanic? Or there is some way to do it myself?
Btw mechanic is carigar restomods surkhail sohail lahore.

Stay away from swap then.
There's 90% chance you get a messed up engine.
Then cut wiring redone by a local electrician.
You will end up in tons of trouble.
Insist surkhail sohail to get it rebuild.

Did your put in Genuine Honda timing belt? Also is your car on cng or petrol? And how the back fires started?

Appreciate your opinion bro.. Actually i dont have much experience with surkhail, i asked here so that maybe someone knows the workshop and stuff... He had a yt channel caristaniyan as well.. he told me that engine ecu and everything under hood except radiator and gear would cost about 175000 from someone he usually buys engines.. A d17a1 engine. Total cost would be 225000 including almost everything... I cant take risk actually so asking senior pws here...
