Sirs
Surely, JDM Type R is much superior.
But Top Gear has made a pretty fair comparison, reason being that the Euro Type R and Civic SI are available to most of the world.
The JDM Type R is a limited production only for domestic market.
Even the EK9 was much better and lively then the current Euro Type R.
BTW, the S2000 is not a great car to compare with, the outline is its engine, we should compare it with a genuine sports car.
I bet the 15 years old DC2 Integra will smoke the Euro Civic Type R and Even the JDM version would be in a really deep trouble against it.
For 8th gen Civic fans, I hate to say that since I am a die hard Honda fan but the pitiable effort that they have done in the 8th gen Civic is reflected in the sales numbers, which are usually the best gauge.
Someones says we are comparing local Civics, then the discussion starts about exotic Type Rs and SI, which are not owned by even 0.5% of Pakistani population.
Then we criticize on Atlas Honda, but then the poster says that xyz gen Civic was crap from Atlas Honda but the one I own is a one off made.
For the record's sake I have driven all Civics and Accords, Integras in almost all trims that are available in local market.
I still have access to a 1966 hatchback Civic and a 1976 1st gen Accord.
And I will strongly favor the 7th Gen, Japan CAR of The Year.
The 8th gen is mostly for them who have an habit of changing car every 5 years or who have issues with maintainability of old car or who have that mindset that new and expensive things are always better, either the car belongs to their Dad or they have been provided with a company car.
