Civic X Eng Check Light P2118

I am presently in Skardu and own a Civic 2017. A month ago while driving, car eng check light alongwith VSA light came on. The car went into fail safe mode with high RPM and low speed. Took the car to local mechanic and he somehow removed the error code P2118. The car drove fine but suddenly one morning it reappeared. I removed the code using obd2 just like the local mechanic but it is reappearing again and again. There is no honda workshop here. Any idea what could be the reason and how can it be resolved?

This due to.malfunctioning of sensor. I would advise to contact 3S dealership via phone to seek their guidance

I have done that, they are saying that the throttle body needs replacement.

check the connector of throttle body sensor clean the contact surface of pins. also if possible check the pcm connectors for rust dirt or oxidation and clean if there is any. and clear the check code.
if no sign of rust or dust and code reappears then follow the dealership advice.

Dealership has adviced to change the throttle body. I am gonna do so. Hope it will work

Is this after a detailed check up in person? Which dealership?

Edit : if this diagnosis was reached via phone, don't change the TB yet. P2118 can be caused by accelerator pedal issues, blown fuses, wiring issues and lastly physical TB issues.

Reset the error code and drive to your nearest city / arrange an expert electrician. Since I've been through a similar ordeal, do not just replace the TB without a thorough diagnosis.

Lastly I feel dealerships are not equipped to deal with complex electrical issues - just like to work by trial and error instead of a detailed diagnosis.

ECU was faulty. All lights are gone after replacing the ECU. Cig Lighter socket not working though.

I am gonna try this new ECU for some days. So far its working fine

Yes kabli ECU from Rwp. Working fine now Alhamdlilah

Your old ecu can be repaired also, if you know someone send it to isb. I'm guessing you must have had to reprogram the immobiliser also.

Yes i did reprogrammed it after a little effort.
Any idea by whom can i get it repaired in Rwp or Isb?

Yeah it may as i am from khi.
ECU costed me 35k

Repair guy recently charge 18k for ecu fixing and electrician 4k for labour (civic rebirth ecu). I think you got a really good deal in 35k for a replacement ecu.

Seeing this issue with 2016 Civic X model in khi. Have had a very similar experience to what you described but now dealership finally says faulty ECU need replacement but don’t know long it will take to source and are not committing to finding it at all. Can anyone point me towards reliable source for new ECU in khi?
