I have recently booked a 1.8 Oriel in Lunar Silver from Honda City Sales, Lahore. Half amount. Delivery time is May.
Just wanted to know how good is the infotainment system that comes with it? I haven't paid for it yet as I was told I can pay for it at the time of remaining payment.

I've been told 'JDM Experts Pakistan' have a 9" NaviCore unit with loads of options. And it fits jack-to-jack. No mods. And almost half the price as that of Honda's OEM.

Any preferences for the factory one, or this Navicore one?

Go for factory fitted, I searched this option before my booking and they showed me in PICs their installed units.....trust me not worth to save 30K? though I latter opted for Turbo so I got as standard.

Even if they fit properly still Honda will deny you electrical warranty for the car because they have a very valid excuse. Secondly the extra 30k for iem system is a value addition to the car because in future it will always be called "genuine navigation waali gari" on resale and fetch you atleast the 30k overspent. No matter how expensive or good an aftermarket system is it will be tagged as "beghair genuine navigation" wali as every single buyer who will also tell you: "bhai itnay main to falaan banda genuine navi waalide raha hai.

Yes I agree but I have a 2015 Civic with the factory fitted. Don't really like the feel of it. Feels cheap and sort of out-dated. I was just wondering If I could get something good.

Trust me the new system for Civic X Oriel is seriously good. Smooth and better. Looks sophisticated as well and quality is good this time.

If you can afford it, go for the factory fitted unit. Heard after market is around 45K, not sure if it includes cameras or not. But the issue is whenever your dash board or doors are opened for any sort of mod/addition clips will not go back as same as new. So there is always the risk of some squeaky noises afterwards.

Factory fitted unit has three cameras, front, back and one pointed towards driver. Did not like the result of the camera but heard there is a protective plastic cover left on it from packing on it, if removed it improves alot. In other respects just a android tablet optimized for your car. Will get my car in 2-3 weeks inshallah, hopefully will find out more then. Opted for the 4yr extended warranty so will try to keep it as stock as possible, only plan on making it 10H ceramic nano coated myself.

Buddy he means that the new system introduced with the oriel 10th gen after then 9th gen, by tracking world. I use it a lot and it sure is a charm to operate as it's very very smooth.

Here's a daylight picture of the system installed by JDM experts that they sent me. I am myself in a fix whether i should go for factory fitted or this one. The aftermarket one sure has superior features when compared to Honda's crap. The only downside i can think about it is that it will make the warranty void but if its a grip to grip fitting, than i guess we can keep the OEM player and if any fault occurs, we can fix the old one back and claim warranty.

The other reason about having an aftermarket system affecting resale is just a far cry.

Love the size of the nav unit. So much better than the one Honda gives.

There still would be a hole in the rear garnish for aftermarket camera and the current wire they will draw from somewhere to power that camera.

They will definitely cut the reverse light wire in the trunk to program the cam for switching On upon reverse gear. Not to mention all the door sills on any one side and rear seat needs removal for taking the feed from unit to camera as well. It isn't as simple as they will make it sound to sell their aftermarket system.

Booked a M Steel Oriel with Nav and extended warranty in start of September. Website says latest delivery before 31st Jan but the dealership told me they will start getting new Civic shipments from 12 Jan. So expected mid or last quarter Jan.
