There is a CNG station on main GT road @ wah cantt. Amjad CNG is the name, just besides another station called Gasco 2000. Both of the stations are offering 15% discount on every filling. My car got 473 Rs worth of cng on sunday, he charged me 405 Rs.

Can anybody here explain to me WHY ON EARTH would he sell gas at a loss?

All of the people who say that CNG walaas can hardly coin profits at this rates are bloody liars. Come to me and I'll show you another instance along with these two: A CNG station in haripur hazaara which sells gas @ 300 Rs per tank (no matter how much gas fills in your car) after midnight.

Then bother asking them how much they STILL earn after offering attractive discount rates.

They are still managing profit on it. Accordingly to my limited knowledge, the profit on CNG was about 32% in initial stages which include all expenditure.

Now CNG stations are of view that we need pure profit after deduction of expenditure. If they have to repair their plant, the cost of repair is also recoverable for consumer, this is total insane demand and should be condemned.

My idsi did 173 kms in that very tank, including 50 kms stop n Go drive in POF cantt area.
Corolla 1.3L Gli did 145 kms in the same fill from the same station.

No difference in mileages bro. The gas is perfect.

Any body having doubt can personally go to the stations I mentioned and check out. I can still mention 4 or 5 more stations on GT road and 3 or 4 in Faisalabad as well.

Sir jee, the point is, at the rate of 97 Rs/kg, they earned an amount worth a CNG station per month. The profit is STILL very very attractive as some people who fear ALLAH and remember the doomsday are selling gas at discounts.

Jab haraam ki chaat lag jaye to chorni mushkil ho jaati hai na, not saying that more profit was haraam for them but their protest for an increment in the rates without any apparently good reason is gonna convert everything they earn into haraam.

@ RollOnBigMaMa dude am not doubting you just wanted to confirm coz whenever this happens in karachi like that discount thingy , our cars get low average , but i noticed at other places as i have travelled mostly everywhere in Pakistan that no matter how low the price is the average remains better . ye baat bhi sahi hai k jisko haram ki lag jaye tou us se woh cheez churana bara mushkil hai, many cng pumps are still closed in karachi. and kal loadshedding hai awam jaye tou jaye kahan .....

And yes you are right, some people fiddle with the air and fuel mixture on the dispensers and as a consequence we are actually buying air at the prices of fuel. Allah hidayat de in sab ko.

And as for load shedding, bhai aapke paas to 1 din hai, hamarey paas 3 din hoti hai, imagine us spending all our savings, made by using CNG in the vehicles, on petrol for the last two working days.

Plus there are long queues even in the days when CNG is open due to some *** people having shut down the stations. :mad:

Gasco 2000 Meter is also 15 % faster. Will check Amjad CNG next time

ISLAMABAD: The consumers of compressed natural gas (CNG) may soon start paying enhanced prices for the fuel if the findings of independent auditors are found to be correct by the Supreme Court and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

Sources told Dawn on Thursday that the independent audit firm appointed by Ogra to analyse accounts of 11 CNG dispensing stations and propose a prudent price had proposed an increase of about Rs28 per kg against Rs32 per kg reduction since October 25.
The sources said the audit firm — Owais-Hyder-Noman-Liaqat — had submitted its report to the Ogra after completing the audit of the 11 CNG stations, two each in the four provinces, two belonging to the oil marketing companies and one in Islamabad.
Based on the accounts and documents provided by the CNG stations, the auditor has assessed compression cost at Rs10 per kg and operating cost at 13.5 per kg as prudent.
The firm has also proposed a profit margin of Rs4.5 per kg to the CNG operators.
As such, the auditor has suggested an increase of Rs28 per kg in the prices of CNG rates.
Separately, a technical team of Ogra is carrying out a costing exercise that will be compared with the auditor’s assessment before submission to the Supreme Court on November 19.
Currently, the Ogra has fixed a price of Rs61.64 per kg for Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and Rs54.16 per kg for Sindh and Punjab as CNG sale price following suspension of a 2008 agreement with CNG industry by the government during the hearing of the case by the apex court on October 25.
Meanwhile, the All Pakistan CNG Association has said that uniform taxation and provision of gas on same rates across the country can help keep prices at affordable levels.
In a statement, the association said the government’s efforts “to destroy the CNG sector would hurt millions and sink investments worth billions of rupees”.
