ISLAMABAD: The government will decide on opening gas supply to CNG sector after reviewing demand and supply situation of the domestic sector.
“It is not possible to allow CNG filling stations to start supply before January 31, after that gas situation will be reviewed especially with regard to gas pressure for domestic sector prior to taking decision in this regard,” an official of the ministry of petroleum and natural resources told APP.
The official added, the government was according priority to domestic sector and did not want it affected with any adverse decision.
He also informed that government for the first time in its history has formulated policies on Tight Gas and Low BTU Gas. As regards the prospects of oil and gas exploration in the country, he pointed out that Pakistan is endowed with vast sedimentary area of over 800,000 square kilo-meters of which over 70 percent is yet to be explored.
The success ratio of oil and gas discoveries is one of the best in the world as is evident from the success ratio of 1: 3.22 discovery rate. Similarly, he added, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and United Energy of USA recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) pertaining to supply of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) in Houston.
He said according to the MOU signed between SSGC and United LNG of USA, the later will supply 4 million metric tons of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) per year to SSGC, supplementing the government’s efforts to ensure energy security of the country.
As per MOU, Pakistan will also own share in Liquefaction facilities in Gulf of Mexico together with United LNG of USA, he added.
Recently as a promising sign, the official said the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made a discovery of 20 mmcfd gas at well head flowing pressure of 3340 PSI in Sindh Province, which would go a long way in easing the gas crisis.
The official said the government was giving top priority to domestic consumers and during the present government 1.6 million consumers were given gas connections.
Moreover, he said the government recently announced a new exploration bid round offering 60 exploration blocks along with Road Shows in Houston and London in early December to showcase the Petroleum Policy 2012 and lure the multinational companies to participate in this bid round.
He said policy was as one of the best in the world since it offers level playing field for E and P companies, both local and international ones.
He said the policy offers price up to a maximum of US $ 6.5 per MMBTU for onshore and up to a maximum of US $ 9 per MMBTU for offshore oil and gas discoveries.

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has given approval to the gas load management plan under which different sectors were prioritized as for as availability of gas is concerned.

The ECC met here under the chairmanship of Federal Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh during it gave approval to the gas load management plan.

Under the plan, first priority for availability of gas will be given to domestic users of gas.

Second priority will be given to the power plants and gas quota for power plants will also be increased. Moreover, gas distribution companies will be free to determine quota for each power plant.

Third and fourth priority will be given to industrial users and the cement sector.

Least priority will be given to the CNG sector, which means that general public should be ready for long queues to be able to get CNG for their vehicles.

The ECC also decided that new tenders will be issued for the import of liquefied natural gas. – SAMAA

so that means no cng for cars or low pressure?

What a load of bull crap! In my hometown, Mianwali, our home is located in a somewhat "posh" area having houses of some big fish syaasi hazraat and some brazillionaires near by.

We receive gas supply NON STOP 24-7 with that kind of pressure that we actually need a commercial pressure regulator to maintain it for house hold use. Alhamdolillah, we use gas heaters, gas geysers, generators etc flawlessly.

Whereas, in areas only 2kms far away into the city, the gas supply is only for 15 hours everyday and the pressure isn't even enough to light up a small stove so that they can cook tea or probably fry an egg, let alone to light up a heater and a geyser!

This is Pakistan ustaad jee, wake up!

ISLAMABAD - The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Saturday started its nationwide peaceful protest movement against the government over ?planned victimisation of the CNG sector?.
In this regard, a protest meeting was held at the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting was attended by CNG operators arriving from Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Lodhran, Bahawalnagar and adjoining areas. The meeting observed with concern that Adviser to Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain had promised APCNGA leaders to end gas load shedding from February 1; however the meeting observed that the promise was not kept.
Speaking on the occasion, APCNGA Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha said that all recent developments point at ?the plan to destroy the CNG sector to introduce expensive liquid gases in the country to earn billions in the shortest possible time?. The ongoing ?artificial gas crisis? and unjust distribution of gas by penalising Punjab is part of the plan hatched by those who matter the most in the current coalition, he said.
APCNGA Bahawalpur Chairman Mian Shahid also spoke on the occasion while reposing confidence in the Paracha?s leadership. Lauding the courts, Shahid said that masses and CNG sector would get relief after March 16, when the new setup will be installed.
During the meeting, the CNG stakeholders decided to reopen CNG stations by force and resist attempts by any government department to keep filling stations shut in violation of court orders.
The meeting passed a resolution for immediate dismissal of Dr Asim, who they held responsible for the worst-ever energy crisis in the history of the country. They strongly condemned the unprecedented power and gas load shedding in the country. The members said that the disaster was the result of record corruption by the ruling cabal, which comprised of the most notorious people ever. CNG station owners also asked the Punjab government and police to refrain from taking any action that would be tantamount to contempt of court. The second protest meeting would be held in Multan on Sunday.

cng was officially closed in punjab and isb
only 100 stations with stay order wr open in twin cities. dont mix those pumps with this news

this segment i shared is from sngpl website. they are officially opening cng back for all regions
means all cng stations would be open.remember few wr closed all winters in twin cities

but cng would be open exact 2 days and outside twin cities, transporters would line up and would not give chance to pvt cars
