CNG related problems

there are generaly 2 adjustments for gas on kit, and other adjustments such as current retire or advance, air blockage etc.... thts wt i m talking abt, u can increase pick by simply advancing it and blok max amount of air but it will decrease milage, tht is wt i m talking about. got it????

its fine for sure in olod shapr any vitz, but nt in new shape. i havr installed many in both models but old shape is successive.

first try to find tht is it merely oon cng?
ad 2ndly i must say to reprogram ur civic's ecu.

it not bad uptil now as expirienced, but frankly speaking ar cng pe best performance deti hai, but if u exceed, u can have results by adding SUGAR

since how long are u facing it?
if after any tune up, means tht isn a proper tuning,
match ur air intake bloking with better runniing city 98 and thn go for the cng adjustmrnts.

So i have to decrease the advancing that wat u r saying. But the car than will start knocking or loose pick up. I know i will have to trade of pick up with the mileage. Just tell me wat exactly i have to ask the mechanic...

sir its frm 3 to 4 mnths bck....before tht father owns thz ride .but now its mine....i took it to the mechanic he serviced it up but the result was same.....n one thng mre the plug leads are also in wrst condition..i wil b changing in 2 3 days ....

how can i compare the air bloking...n whtz the average should it hve to gve

Dear FYQ

I ve posted this one seperately as well. I ve City vario 07 . it runs smooth on patrol but gives engine emission warning light once on CNG. No change in performance (some missing initially as i convert on CNG) but light remains there.

Dear FYQ!

i own a Santro Executive 2004, Just bought it. it has got 3 problems.

1. The intercity CNG mileage is 120 KMs with 50 litres of cylinder. How can i improve this mileage( even after setting that CNG Nut that is used for CNG setting).

2. The car never goes above 110 even in full throttle and 5th gear. What is the issue?

3. Its wind screen is crack. From where and which Wind shield to be installed? which workshop will do the best work for it in islamabad.

I have changed coil,plugs,battery every thing in my mehran 2006 vx,but still it gives me problem while starting,even if i park the car for an hour and i wana start again it takes long self and then i had to pull the choke for a minute or 2.IVe adjust the tappet last month,changed the cng switch.Do i need to loosend the tappet as i suspect the mechanic might not adjust it properly.Some one told me to increase the timing on Cng how to do it?On petrol car is runing fine.Plz help me out is it a tappet problem.

falcon! ist go to mechanic and just ask for ur problem's solution, wen he will fix it, chk the car then and if tht wont be solved, u will just need to tell me wht has he done, thn i'll tell u some self adjustments.

salahuddin! ist go for a complrete general tune up, if problem persists, thn tell me wht there as problem for u tht tym.

aviators! wt 5s advancer brand? !i dnt thnk tht is fit and matched for ur car.

aitizaz! ur car need a general tune up for plugs kit and cylinder from a gud cng mechanic, and after tht its milage and pik will improve for sure. for windscreen change, go to babu muhalla(shop near waseem autos)sadar. u can find windsreen there. thnx

I have Civic 97 VTI ...manuel transmission. I have following two questions to ask;

1- Enginge gets off when i apply brakes, the RPM comes to zero and then engine shuts off. I get RPM adjusted so many times but after 5-7 days all sets to same problem. I have got throttle body cleaned but it could only help 3-7 days then got injectors clean but of no help.

2- Its giving me an average of 120Kms / 55 Cyl (w/o AC)....can i improve it a little more. Coz it is giving me almost Rs. 3.75/Km.

I have a 1990 Model Suzuki Alto having a F8B engine and fitted with BRC CNG. A few days back, during a routine tune up, a mechanic fiddled with my CNG valve ( the one with a screw and nut around it midway between the Kit and the Carburator. Since then, the engine is consuming too much gas. The idle RPM's are normal but gas consumption has gone high since then. I asked the mechanic if he has increased the gas, he said he did nothing, just slightly adjusted the valve. Sparks Plugs, Point, Air Filter is new. Also new Head Gasket and recent Oil/ Filter Change

Can you tell me why could the gas consumption high with normal rpms. Moreover I shall be most obliged if you could tell me how to adjust the gas back to normal myself. I am fed up of trying different mechanics as everyone has his own criteria. Kindly tell me how to adjust CNG settings so that gas consumption is reduced

i m using this car for 2 years...

ye car 80-90 km/h on CNG max... bohat dafa es ki tuning aur cng setting kra chuka ho.. lekin max speed pay koi fark nai prta... es k engine b recntly new kraya hai.. aur es ki local milage b satisfied nai.. as compared to its equivilant models ye bohat pechay hai...

Pls tel me how mach mileage 1600cc Civic car on patrol highway with Ac and without AC If your car 16Km par liter then par km price is 3.56 Rupees and if 14Km par liter then par km price 4 Rupees So there not any deferent’s between CNG and Patrol. But if you drive your car on Patrol then your Car Engine is safe and long live am I right?

Boss advancer in my city vario is PVR/ Diel Map 2. And again i tell u the problem , car gives engine emission warning light once on CNG.

Ur advise plz??? if i change it or what?

          Thanks alot for your advice. You have mentioned in your answer that my car needs a General Tune up of plugs kit and cylinder. What do you mean by that? and can u please tell me about any CNG specialist mechanic in islamabad or rawalpindi who can do the job for me?

i need to change plugs in my 05 baleno, do you recommend using splitfires or should i just go for the normal ones? any particular brand i should use(mostly being used on CNG and does about 180-200km on a 55 cylinder highways)

not much into racing but do like to have a bit of extra power for when some1 cuts me off on the road :).

I have a khyber 97 when i start it on CNG and self it, It gives me a tick tick sound and doesn't start. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. What could possibly be the problem?

thts POWER T, just dont mess with anything else, re adjust ur car's gas from tht power T and nothing else.

its a detailed topic!
in simple words on long drives gas is inversely proportional to prtrol(consumption viz) on driving on petrol, double butterfly consumes more petrol on ther hand, an exact amount of gas is cmng out of kit tht is consumed totally in long drives(in local not complrtrly intake by engine as a result less avg)
2ndly, cost per km depends upon average of ur car. mostly 1600 cc cars DO NOT give more thn 12 kms, cng cost COMPERITIVELY LESS.
3rdy Engine is safe when u act upon INSTRUCTIONS IN CNG MANUAL, theres written" after every 2-3 cylinders, drive ur car on 2-3 litres of petrolfor batter results(of engine) no one act on it.
efi car's have less this chance as they start everytime on petrol

its general cng tune up from cng workshop. and its not a big deal as well. go to any shop thts near to ur home or workplace( so u can claim for any mistunning)

only factory fitted plugs i alwaz recommend .
because if u go for multi tip plugs, tht will result is bigger spark, thn u'll need more powewrfull plug leeds, thn bigger flame th u'll need bigger exhaust,,,, so if u want to chng just plugs, go for factory fittrd, but if u can chng wholr setup, u may thn.

tick tick sound comes from where? if cng switch, thts cng switchs relay. u need to change switch, and if from kit, u need to change piston of main coil, switch will cost u 800-2000** and piston can cost u rs 150-300**

After reading your article on this site, i have joined this forum to share my problem and seek you opinion.

1. I have Baleno 1300 1999 model. recently i have overhauled its engine. am not satisfied with its pickup on CNG. Does it require CNG service or tunning? CNG service/tunning is not done since i bought it in Aug 2006.

2. Cylinder size is 55 or 60. it does 200Km/cylinder on motroway from lahore to RWP without AC and CNG of Rs 1000 with AC back to LAhore on GT road. is it OK?

3. Alkso advise a good CNG mechanic here at Lahore.

4. just to share, after recenbt overhaul, i have placed thermostat valve in the engine against the mechanic opinion. is it fine?
