The advantage of the carby version is that the tappets do not need adjustment, though thry will give problems at high mileage if the right oil is not used.

You guys won't believe this, but 95 percent of the mechanics don't adjust tappets correctly

if you guys think the suzuki G10 is good, then you need to see the Subaru version of this engine, it was installed in the J-10, Justys, Domingo vans.

That engine has a very very heavy iron block, Weighs a lot more than a daihatsu CB block, forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons with alphin carrier ring lands, counterbalancer shaft and the entire rotating assembly was balanced as one.

In proper nick that engine will survive a few world wars, it refuses to die when run properly, the reason it failed in Pakistan was because our people want to use tap water in the cooling systems - its waterpump was shared with the oil pump and rusting/erosion lead to mixing - its oil pump/water pump assembly was very expensive to buy because of its design. If used with correct coolant - its an insanely long life part.

the first suzuki cultus offered by PS was the best in build quality (the one with no rpm meter), it also had a lot more small parts like wiring clips/finishing items on it and looked more like a proper car as compared to the made in lalukhet cultus that PS sell now.

Truely Said @margallar. I have NEVER adjusted Tappets in my Carby Cultus even when now its 150,000 Kms done. Our Family Mechanic Since Ancient times, Jawed, may be a good guy, but I am not trusting Efi Cultus or Efi Liana in His Hands. And At Naseer Autos, I have often went for simple Pre-Monsoon Service and they Have billed 'tappet adjustment' & 'Valve Clearance'

The Thing I like about my Carby is, at was T-boned by a truck from side in slow Speed(Allah ka Shukr), Experimented by local Mechanics, Hit by speeding cars and went through alot. Then 2 days Before Eid I noticed that car Wont Start. I was like, Man Jao na rutho mutt. And Took Her to Jawed. Replaced Front Brake Shoes(both), did Full engine cleaning, New Air Filter, 3 NGK copper Plugs and Engine was about to fall so tightened it. And Bill was only rs. 3,700!(Bechari Ghareeb Gari) When I started the car, It said, Abhi tou mein Jawan hoon.

@ Xulfiqar Sir, I am A big Fan of your posts. Everyone on Pakwheels knows you. Aap ne merey dil ki baat keh di. Just look at my 2005 Cultus and 2010 Cultus. Finishing is so great, Wipers, Dikki, Dikki Uthanay wala etc etc. and It is a complete car. This is why I am commending my carby cultus soo much. We have so much memories with it. It is rock tough even after 9 years. New Parts are also Very low Quality. We go to shershah to buy Kabuli parts for it, that is why it is doing 150,000 Kms. Any New Cultus would not Live up to this long. And I never Serviced Butterfly & carburetor of this car. But now it needs one. Only Problem is insane overheating in this all-aluminium engine.

Concept to be cleared, Carburetor Cultus Can never Match Efficiency of a Efi Cultus. Reason Being Carburetor is a very old technology( the last carburetor car of the world Paksuzuki Mehran rolled of assembly in 2012.) and Efi is newer Technology.

Fuel Efficiency can never be measured accurately, even by manufacturers. I tried my best to Collect Info From My Relatives and other Owners TO Compile Economy for each.

Carburetor Cultus : 9-10 Km/Pl
Efi Cultus : 12-14 Km/pl

Efi Cultus Is Best at fuel Efficiency and Carburetor Cultus is no match in this category. Reason that Efi cultus is sold so much is also that it has impressive Fuel Economy in 1000cc Category Engine.

Hmm... Thanks! Carby Cultus is the one Heating Vigorously... I will Check According to your mentioned Parts. yep, Intake Pipe is Also damaged. Last 50,000 Kms were without any service. Car never protested Earlier. This thing is strong!

yes - carburettors cannot match the performance and efficiency of an EFI engine, in EFI we can also play around with the intake manifold runners to boost low end torque.

ever driven a 1.3 corolla XLi and an old 1.3 corolla XE, - both are 1.3 litre but the XLi can pull like a train due to its intake manifold design.

Back in ~2002 we bought a brand new carby cultus. It was a great car indeed. Well built, excellent airconditioner, economical to run... it ram 150k kms with one engine overhaul. Still running strong with pur neighbour. It was so good that we bought another cultus in 2007. Conpared to the old one, this was crap. It shut down the first day due to an electrical fault. There was no rubber drain plug on the left passenger side floor, etc.
It is still a major pain in the a**..

Our close relative bought the efi cultus (even though I suggested him not to). It is still running excellent. The engine is quiet, more responsive and it is more fun to drive.

Plus I hate the air filter design on the carby model. It is very annoying to open and close.

I Will also compare dependablility as my 2010 Cultus behaves like a spoiled child even if maintained good. Stock Cultus Delivers satisfaction too. Well, Efi engine Does have some Starting issues as I faced some time earlier.

Spoiled child best term to describe new suzuki cars similar case with current suzuki I keep track of all things spend more time and money on maintenance never miss a tune up or any thing and its same spoiled child in the end older cars were good
New ones are expensive and quality suks

Excellent Decision! After 150,000 Kms, Do a complete Engine Overhaul. Otherwise, like my Carby Cultus, It will be dead.

AND I am planning to do a Complete Engine + Engine Bay Overhaul. Any Idea how much they took?

Here is mine. 2006 model and 112K driven. Never let me down ever Alhamdollilah. I feel a minor difference between carby and EFI cultus because after down piping, free flow exhaust and performance wires, I've smoked stock EFI cultus with her.

Electronically Fuel Injected cars are specialized to Spray Fuel in the most Economical plus powerful Manner. As we Talk About Cultus, There are Variety of options. You can even fine tune your carby cultus to beat an Efi Cultus or vice versa, because of tuneability. Like in My Carby Cultus I have set Idling RPM to High Points(1,500), as a mechanic suggested. Similarly you can tune your Efi Cultus to performance just by taking it to 3s. However, The ratio between Fuel Economy and Power must be mantained.

Lets Looks At what is the relationship between power & Economy:


So The more the Fuel, more the Power.

In Carby Cultus, All we can Do is Change Idling Rpm & Idle air/fuel mixture(sigh).

Still, we can see that the Efi Version Has the Highest Tuneability and From Factory Settings, Efi IS better at acceleration. As for Carby one, Why do we expect it to compete with a 4-cylinder Engine. At top Speeds, 3-cylinder Engine will reach but will Shake alot! The G10B Efi Upgrade was much needed in Cultus.

This is the best Cultus Built by the Hands of man! Congrats, your Ride is awesome! Specially the aftermarket Grille and Colored Intake Filter is Superb Idea. Engine Bhi Bohot pyaara Hai! Waisey what is take thing attached to air intake? it looks like wood?
