The company my dad works in has around hundred Hilux of all variants and made. Ive driven the local Vigo Champ V and G variants.
To be honest, they are no better than donkey carts.

Im not saying that thai model would be as comfortable as some boeing jet but it would be alot better than the pakistani made vigos.

Yet people see them as luxury cars. I hate them all. such uncomfortable rides. seats are so uncomfortable. no road grip. also poor in off-roading due to weight distribution, suspension etc.

if by chance you feel it is underpowered, add a bolt on front mount intercooler which adds 15-18 hp, or get uni chip which adds 45hp.
Dont get a 4 year old car for a much higher price.

Yes it has a turbo, it is a d4d turbo non intercooled

I have owned loads of Hilux over the years best I ever had was a 2010 Vnturbo Vigo Thailand 3.0G auto in black 20s on em, Vigo is best ride in my view for roads here as it has a image of being a security guard, agency dalla!! Vigo champ indus one isnt bad just really bad brakes, feels under powered if u driven a 3000cc turbo intercooler one toyota Hilux invincible uk version is pretty good as it had good comfy seats and heater, Which U wont find in the Thai version. the 2500cc d4d turbo indus is good on fuel economy. The plus point is it does have a new shape though and is cheaper then a 2010 model. If u fork out 40 plus then get the Vigo Vn Turbo Thailand version or the Hilux invincible Uk model both are good. If ur budget is less then Vigo Champ 2500cc D4D Turbo is ur best bet! this used to be my old ride. MY current is Mitsubishi L200 Animal 2009 manual and its a lot of fun doesn't look at all security dala and economical. Cheaper then the Hilux also leather interior.

Another "Goodman" stuff. I've kept and driven both the vehicles. Technically there is no difference in suspension of both Pakistani and Thai vigos so if you "feel" any difference in grip or ride comfort that is just another "Goodman Feel."

Pakistani vigo is definitely less powered in comparison to a 3.0 Thai Vigo. But you pay less and that too for a new vehicle. Thai second-hand (re-conditioned) vigo if you are lucky you can find a good one but most of them are with tampered meters and no maintenance history. Also no heater so forget any snow season visits to northern areas. Choice is yours though.

compare the suspensions of any model (imported and local). you will definitely find some upgraded parts in the imported one

what about the PHATTA seats in local vigo? isnt there any difference between the seats too? seats dont change ride quality and comfort?

one of my very dear friends of PW got a pair of recaro seats installed in his mehran and asked me to test drive it. the mehran doesnt feel like a mehran now

yesterday, i saw a daihatsu esse 2011 model onnly 6000km driven and it is GUARANTEED non accident. the poor owner is suffering a loss of 80k rs after import. the point is, there are clean imports out there and they run and perform just like any used car here. one only needs to sped some bucks on quality and forget worrying.

This is my time to be Goodman. I've driven both imported and indus vigos "felt" no difference in handling, ride and comfort. I've even kept a "0 meter" (not second hand re-conditioned trash) made in Japan Corolla and a number of Pakistani Corollas and "felt" absolutely no difference in handling and ride quality.
Also a person who is buying a Hilux shouldn't worry much about comfort. This is a truck bhai sahib, not a luxury sedan.

we have 2013 local vigo.........it is governments vehicle........we drove it to many places in azad kashmir and 8 people were on board..........i felt like it is underpower and it was struggling......and it smells like some smoke from engine too which was very uncomfortable for all of us.........i was expecting alot from this zero meter vehicle but it disapointed me.......
local vigos are new and clean but underpower....
thai vigo are good but i dont see many clean thai vigos around now a days......if you found a clean thai vigo then go for it.....
local vigos looks more charming as campared to thai vigo......both vigos has its own pros and cons.....

those people who owns their own vigo, please accept my special salam and salute to them......man these vigos are very expensive to keep.......the maintenance are very expensive......i thought only government have guts to keep them........kia shok ha yar wah
i will perfer to keep a car because vigos are very dangerous if you drive it fast on moterway or highways....it felts like the wind screen is facing alot of wind friction and jolts...

I have NOV 2007 Thai Hilux Vigo. outstanding performance, both on and off-road,driving pleasure . A high performance, high torque 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engine which will give the Hilux a balance of on-road performance aligned with off-road capability. I'm using "continantal cross contact" tires in my vigo. A nice road grip and very soft drive. Allah humdu ila i am very happy with my ride.
