Confused between Third Gen Prius and Honda Fit Hybrid Second gen

I drove a honda fit shuttle hybrid 2014 model, 2017 registration (2nd owner) with 46k km on the odo. The guy was asking for 19 lac (seemed overpriced) but the drive seemed very good. Is there a spare parts issue for IMA hybrids? Is it true that there is no life expectancy testing software for IMA?

2011 Hybrid is already 8 years old. so actually you are paying 1770,000 for 8 year old car. In this budget you can comfortably buy a local Toyota Certified pre-owned 1600 Auto Altis 3-5 year old.

In my opinion don't buy it, look for recently imported car, to check battery and other error codes, drive the car for at-least 60-70 KM then you will know that there is no error code, specifically for battery test, charge the battery to full by applying brakes and continuously running engine, then shift the vehicle on EV mode only and drive, it should cover 3-4 KM on battery with avg speed of 40-50

PS: Does prius require tuning or is it ok to drive it as it is until an error shows up?

OIL change, OIL Filter, Air Filter needs to be replaced just like any other car, Plus take care of Battery vent FAN, no dust should accumulates on it. Keep the cabin clean as much as possible. normal inspection after every 7000-8000 KM,

Avoid both..
Have experience with these
Honda fit has faulty gear
Prius is not good in stability and braking on highway
Both are scrapes if you are cosidering for a long run

brother i can believe the gear issue regarding fit but prius being unstable on highway? seems more of a one-off rather than a regular issue with the prius itself. :s

I had the battery life expectancy test done as well and drove the car as well. no error codes popped up.

plugged in Bluetooth obd2 adapter, ran dr. prius. the test was carried out through that software. braking+acceleration and then charge drain was done.

Thought I'd update the forum, possibly to assist some members in the market with a similar confusion.

I ended up buying a 2011 manufactured, 2nd gen Prius (2014 reg) at around 15 lac. Got her a new set of shoes (Yokohama AE50, 2019 manufacturing year, purchased directly from Shaikh Brothers) and so far she's been with me through rain (literally) and sun.

I drove the Fit Shuttle (2nd gen) while I was looking for a car. The difference between the two is negligible in terms of driving experience (Fit offering more torque). Prius' is more comfy to drive I felt.

Space is slightly cramped at the back if you're tallish, no problem for an average height person.

Fuel economy is currently 20kmpl (+- 1kmpl) depending on driving style and the blend of city/hwy mix. I have taken the car to Hyderabad numerous times without any issue Masha Allah and there's been no issues with either the battery or the ABS so far.

I do however get slightly envious of the Shuttle's space sometimes and Freed's quirky driving seat but I guess practicality wins over shauq sometimes
