I need to file a complaint in Consumer Court regarding two pairs of shoes I purchased from Unze London, which have been defective after minimal use.
I bought the first pair in October 2024 for Rs. 11,000 from Y Block, DHA Lahore, and then the second pair in December 2024 for Rs. 5,500 from Packages Mall, Lahore. I’ve been using one pair, and gifted the other to my brother. The leather of both the pairs has started to peel off (as seen in the picture).
When I purchased these shoes, the salesman assured me that they were made of genuine leather. However, within only two months of use, the leather started to peel off, which is completely unacceptable for a product marketed as "leather".
I visited the Unze store at Y Block, DHA multiple times to address the issue. Unfortunately, I was told by the store staff that the shoes were not made of leather and that the peeling was merely 'wear and tear'. This response is not only misleading but also dishonest. I feel that I have been misled into buying a product based on false claims, and I am now left with two defective pairs of shoes after only a short period of use.
As a customer, I expect the product I've purchased to meet basic standards of quality and durability (especially when marketed as leather), but these shoes clearly fall short, and the way I’ve been treated by the staff of Unze has only added to my frustration.
Now I'm going to file a complaint in Consumer Court to seek a refund. I have already sent a Legal Notice to Unze via email. It has been more than 15 days now but I have not received any response from them.
If anyone here has any experience with Consumer Court in Lahore, please guide me through the process. The information I've been able to gather so far is that there's a Consumer Court and a Consumer Council. The Consumer Court is in Riwaz Garden while the Consumer Council is on Multan Road. I don't know which one to go to. I'd really appreciate some help.
And if anyone here has had a similar horrible experience with Unze, please do share it here.
