Anyway, Honda civic 2012 will be 1.8L Inshallah. Toyota knew this will happen and because of the fact that in 1.8l capacity everybody seeks for civic and there was a big segment of 1.5 to 1.6 was vacant and toyota had the engine available (philipines model). So to market the altis more they had no choice but to introduce this segment, but its ok, we dont have roads where we can cruise above 180.

Dear Immado, zulfiqar. Always focus most on RPMs rather than speed. It is the REV that makes your fuel consumption high or low. So when you drive, lets say corolla, dont drag too much on 2nd gear, for instance taking it upwards to 80km. Secondly, our bad breaking habits, for example instant breaking also effects our fuel consumption. Well, let me give you a simple way, it may look odd, but thgis works, drive as if a driver of Army is driving for flag (Brigade commander, Major general etc etc), when you change the gear, nobody should even feel that the gear has been changed or brakes have been applied, simple rule. Always avoid "Rabbit starts". On 2nd gear you can take it up to 60, but dont stay there for long, shift to 3rd and so on. The more your car touches higher revs but higher gears, you will consume more fuel.

Make use of car momentum itself on highways, rather than depending upon too much on High revs.

It has nothing to do with “TYPICAL SICK LAHORI MENTALITY” you are referring to. I have no idea about your past experiences with Lahoris that you got so offended by it but believe me they happen to be very lively and friendly people.

I wasn’t expecting these biased ethnic remarks from an army ex-man, but it explains a lot about you retiring as a major and may be you also don't know that a REAL MAN never drags the family of other party into his personal clashes/conflicts.

Running on aftermarket rims with 205s.

well, lets hope for a 2.0L petrol corolla, because one can never trust these guys. i worked for sometime for a company that produces steering knuckle for corolla, well, quality was good, this is the same company producing parts for TATA india, holland, germany. But will Indus bring a new corolla, and if they did then at what price? the thing is, majority people go for civic because of features which i dont think corolla has or will have. If a 2.oL corolla has 140 Bhp and price 24 lakh, then i dont think it will be sold, because civic has 140 bhp at 1.8L, and more features, price will definately be less than corolla. May be if they induct dual vvti 2.0LV engine, bhp could be 150, but i will have to check the features of this new engine first. October till december will be a period of changes in cars, there may be some more changes in the interior of city, but civic is expected in late october with 1800cc engine SOHC IVTEC, with trunk space equal to corolla, the edge from where they were loosing.

Karachi and Khairpur Mirs City (Road) and National Highway use only

Totally stock from factory specs and no changes what so ever. 100% genuine car. Car had Toyota Synthetic Factory spec oil from start till 5000km mileage. (Brother got this done for some reason)

• Original stuff and just got its oil re-changed to synthetic so will update stats later when we drive more. -

1) Average in City with AC = 7 to 9 (predicted 9 to 11) normal 40km/h to 60km/h @ 5th gear [ They get 8.5 to 10km/l ]

2) Average in City without AC = 8 to 10 (predicted 11 to 13) normal 40km/h to 60km/h @ 5th gear [ Got 11.5km/l twice ]

3) Average on Highway with AC = 12 to 14 (predicted 13 to 16) normal 100km/h to 120km/h @ 5th gear [ Mix A/C use gave 14.8 km/l and 15.2 km/l on first trip and 15.1 km/l and 15.5 km/l on second trip ]

4) Average on Highway without AC = 13 to 15 (predicted 14 to 17) normal 100km/h to 120km/h @ 5th gear [ Mix A/C use gave 14.8 km/l and 15.2 km/l on first trip and 15.1 km/l and 15.5 km/l on second trip ]

= This is my uncle and dad's result please do not take it for granted as it will VARY and our car is on running period so it will increase its mileage gradually =

Gli/Xli has two forms of fuel consumption meter: 1) Instantaneous fuel consumption. 2) Average fuel consumption

If the display is showing instantaneous fuel consumption then its keep on changing when you accelerate or decelerate (since its the consumption at a particular point of time). If you are going at 40 km/h or above (approximate speed) and you release the accelerator fully, the instantaneous meter will show 99.9 km/l since the car is running but the fuel being injected is what it needs at idling (you are not giving any extra fuel to engine). so that the reason it shows 99.9 km/l

whereas the average fuel meter shows the average consumption since it was last reset. the average shown by this meter is not accurate but it doesn't deviate by large values so it provides you a good approximation of what average you are getting.
